Buckwheat, from what I hear it is extremely painful. I believe the danger comes when one is stuck and causes bile to back up. During a flush, if you're lucky to pass one from the GB, it isn't painful. I'm on a gallbladder list and one of the posters theorizes that most of what is actually passed would come out during normal bodily functions. It makes sense to me since there are person on there who have done dozens of flushes.
The flush that is most utilized on that group has epsom salts as an ingredient which supposedly helps to relax the bile ducts therefore allowing any hard stones to pass.
It should be stressed that it is important to replenish beneficial flora as this is disrupted. I never knew that and I believe it has contributed to my RA.
It's been 2 years since I've done a flush and I believe my diet is most helpful. Another gallstone poster went the diet avenue using elimination to determine what foods she was allergic to so she could shrink her stones. I believe hers have shrunk. I'll have to contact her and see. There is an Aussie doc, Dr. Sandra Cabot, who has a couple of books out on the subject of liver cleansing. That would be good for you to check out.
I believe alot of gallbladder attacks are the result of eating allergenic foods.
take care, laura
