Wow,
You guys!!! A zillion thanks to everyone

Michelle has missed both my birthdays on KA by being away on hols, but I'm OK with that ..... kind of OK anyway ..............So, I'm 38 now - almost middle aged - and yes Pete, that is more or less my golfing handicap

As Steve suggested I did indeed play golf on my birthday, and shot 104. Two pars , a lot of bogies but on no less than 4 holes I took 8 attempts to get it in the hole

Icky was right, I had indeed finished all my GF beer before the day, but I managed to find a little French champagne and had a a very pleasant meal out with the family. I'm a bit worried about Doug though. It's been three weeks or more and he still has a can of one of the finest beers around in his fridge (English of course) - what's that all about?? As Ian said, "Friends don't let friends drink light beer", so come on Doug, let it warm up a bit, and see it gone!

My birthday pressie this year will be a golf club - a 'lob wedge'. All and sundry family have contributed towards it. I think I've been given too much for one club, so I'll have fun looking at golf gadgets, or get some golf winter clothes, or just buy some more balls....I only lost one ball yesterday - my drives are getting straighter every time I play

Fore!
