Thanks to all for the well-wishes. It went pretty well once it got started. One dr tried to cancel after I was already in pre-op, IV started and everything, but the other finally came and said, "No, we're going in." Phew. They pulled out a "thing" the size of a large grape from under my jaw bone. They didn't have to put a drain in so I got to come home the same day. I had a REALLY REALLY difficult time coming out of the anesthesia and had the post-op nurse from h*ll--It took 3 hours to wake up instead of 1, and I was still falling asleep while people were talking to me and couldn't have told you my name when he started practically yelling: "Okay, it's time for you to get up and leave now, you've been here too long. Why won't you speak to me?" I couldn't even walk so he pulled me up, set me in a wheelchair, and pushed me out to the car completely incoherent, confused, and sobbing. My Mom was NOT happy. They dislocated a few joints, hyperextended some others, but in general were very careful with my fragile EDS body. My face is all swollen and bruised on one side, but hardly hurts. My back is killing me... I know you can all relate. I still don't know much on the thyroid/thymus. I'll ask my rheumy his opinions when I see him about the osteoporosis tomorrow. For the most part I'm still sleeping most of the day (and night). You're the best cyber-family a person could ask for!
Greatful, sleepy hugs,
'Erie
