Finally,
Enbrel has come out with a new presentation method for preparing and injecting Enbrel. It's called PrecisionGlide needle. The needle is the thinnest-gauge needle available for injecting Enbrel. Also a new vial adapter has been designed to make mixing and withdrawing Enbrel more convenient. A needle will no longer be used during the mixing process. The directions for using the new method will be included in each carton of Enbrel. Haray.....Just what I have been waiting for.....

Just thought I mention this to all Enbrel users....but probably you all got the same letter I received..

Have a wonderful weekend

My husband just got the new resource kit.

Based on the pictures, the needle looks much narrower and shorter. What a good improvement! Can't wait till end of September (or beginning of October), when the new version is available.

Just need to take some time to learn the new way to mix the vital.

Regards,
Mandy

Me too, Dan, don't you hate it when you dart it in, and then it bounces back, and then you have to get double psyched to do it again???

They give me extra needles. After using one for the mixing, I replace the needle part before injection. It works much better.

Hi Betty,
I don't think it's the needles. Each dose tray contains one vial of etanercept, one deluent syringe(sterile bacteriostatic water for injection, one plunger, and two alcohol swabs. After each use you dispose of the syringe. I just can't believe that the needle gets dull when inserted into the vial. But maybe the new system will work better.
Thanks

Dan

Ours are different. We use standard syringes and needles, and our Enbrel comes in a generic vial. The syringes that come in the Enbrel kits are made all in one piece. Even the vials are different. Enbrel is so expensive they ought to include a nurse to give you the injections.

Still hooked on Enbrel.....
