Hey YOU,
Glad to hear from you, hope you have been doing well Darlin!
I wish I looked like you, so I could put up a pic too!
The least you could do is look a little out of shape! show off!

OK, MOSTESTES favorite KA minute........

It was 4 oclock in the morning, and the oven was looking pretty good
and he came, with answers, encouragement, and hope, my hero, DragonSlayer

I cannot tell you the feeling I got from his first email, it was like hope, on steriods. I cannot imagine finding such gold anywhere but KA.

Yep, my favorite KA moment was when I was given the will to go on, and fight.
I wont ever forget it, or my fearless leader!

And hey you, lets do a get together, I have so many professionals who want to help, talk, what ever they can. of great note is an eye dr in Santa Barbara who has some AS experience, he is saying, anything I can do for your support group, you let me know.
I was thinking a great topic for him would be how to reduce iritis flares in those prone to them, and what makes someone prone to them, as only 30% of AS victims get aggressive iritis, or so they say! We could post the "talks" or any decent ideas or info we get from these dudes, on the board and share with everyone! The local gymnastic center will give us free floor time, and a coach for stretching tips, pointers, etc....Lamp Post pizza in North Ranch will give us a food discount and not charge for a "group" meeting...people are really super, huh?
and you gotta here about the shirts, AS S%$#s, too funny!

Lots of love and Happy Holidays to you and yours,
Shu

I really enjoyed the animations Scrote's son would make of different mechanisms "kicking AS" - however they're no longer linked to the old site.

There is this one however, as a close second:

Wow!

The people who have shown up to answer this post just amaze me! And the memories are flooding back like crazy. I have so much to say, but for now I just want to say how stunned and happy I am to see YOU...Timothy J. Crotty, responding to this thread.

I miss you and I see your new e-mail address. You will be hearing from me soon!

Peace and God Bless to you,
Cristina

Such a pity I can't find the joke I was apologising for, what a crock that was!

Lord Simpson and his butler -'Cribbins' was his imaginary name as I recall - the photos of us in the grounds of his 'stately home' (was actually Coombe Abbey) on the lawns, where 'Cribbins' brought us high-tea. The talk of Lady Simpson etc etc.. Happy days :)

Glad you liked it, and glad you're having fun searching the old forums again.

Aye, that's the rub!

Thanks for finding the actual thread - that was more the memory than the apology.

Thanks to those who worked to restore the forums - It's great to revisit old times.

Cristina, thank you for asking this. At this most stressful time of my work year, it's good to reflect on positive things.

There are so many things I love about KA and the people here that I couldn't possibly even hope to name them all, but here goes with a few of them anyway....

Finding this place (thank you Timo) first and foremost. You all have helped me learn to cope and reminded me that I am, indeed, sane on more than one occasion.

The utter compassion and understanding shown by everyone here when someone needs help is mind blowing. I've learned so much from all of you in that regard. The Great Diaper Drop, the cards and letters to Cristina, the support and love shown for our dear Marabella.

The true friendships that I have gained with people here - and learning the true meaning of friendship.

Getting to meet some of you at the Toronto and Ottawa parties. Man, what a wonderful time those parties were. Playing golf (on purpose even) with Pete, Loz and Jeanna in Toronto, the great food/beer/road hunt with Cheryl in Ottawa, feeling an arm slide around my shoulder at breakfast the first morning in Ottawa and turning to find Jeanna there. I burst into tears and heard Eric say to Lori "Isn't she supposed to be happy?" to hear Lori reply "It's a woman thing." And meeting Jeanette and Nancy (Mark's mom) this year too - and dear Johnny, who would have avoided the traffic across the top of Toronto if he'd only let me know he was coming so I could give him a better route.

Mini get togethers with the GTA folk.

Laughter, so much laughter - and learning to laugh through the pain (Steve! Linc!)

Lon's pastoral wonders that leave such a feeling of warmth as I read them.

The Women's Forum (both online and off in Ottawa). What would I do without all of you to giggle and commiserate with over those things that only women really get. Not to mention planning G&T parties with Kathy and Maxine!

I know I'm forgetting so much. If I had a week I might be able to get it all down. But I think this gives you the gist of it.

Many warm and love filled hugs,

Kat
