If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Count me in as another one who loses weight when I have a flare-up. I've read this can be a side-effect of AS. As far as I'm concerned, it's the only good side-effect. Now I am in remission and eating like a pig. Craving protein like crazy. Wondering if it's my body trying to rebuild. It's happened several times. Unfortunately, I'll probably gain some weight. Has anyone else here noticed an increase in appetite when coming out of a flare-up? erin

Yes, I've noticed that too. When the pain is really bad I have less of an appetite but when it goes away I eat more. I eat when I am happy and when I'm stressed I can hardly eat a thing.

My husband has lost 20 pounds but has held steady for a month now. He was losing weight before he even went on meds. His eating habits have changed totally - sometimes he won't eat a meal until evening - just nibble on a few cookies in the morning and *maybe* a lunchmeat sandwich at noon. After showering the other night, he said, "I'm getting really skinny, aren't I?" Um, yes...

As the disease progressed over the last 7 year I found my weight dropped in a slow but relentless way. Everytime I look at the scale and realise another kilo is gone.. it annoys me b'cos I don't know how to put it back on. No matter how much starch I eat, the weight just doesn't want to go on. Perhaps a month on prednisolone would help.. hmmm . z "So long and thanks for all the fish" - Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy

I don't know what you guys do different than me but I have gained weight and I mean gain weight. I don't stand to have pictures taken or even look at my self in the mirror. I don't eat much becuase I am not hurngy. I did have some picture just taken with my sister in-law's baby's and I look so bad if I could I would not let them out. I weight 105 when I got married and when I was having my kids the most I weighted was 150 but I have pass that by a while back. If any one has any thing that will help me lose weight I would be greatful. Hugs, Donna Love comes in all shapes and sizes
