Hope the treatment helps Heart difficulties should be looked after. I can not give much advice since I am a Republican. I have heard on the Media that Reppublicans don't have a heart.

Hi Maggie

my sister has used Propanolol for several years due to tachycardia and arrithmia caused by Thyroid Problems. Have you checked your thyroid levels lately?

My mother uses BPmeds too, due to atrial fibrillation some years ago.
Besides increasing the astma med dosage, neither has had any more trouble since starting on the BP meds.

Good luck!

Hi Maggie,
I too have tachycardia have been on 10mg four times a day for it for about ten years. It is still fast but just under 100 per minute. I take Amitrityline(Elavil) and this causes rapid heart beat, but it helps greatly forthe neuropathic pain. I was investicated about five year ago in hospital in Ottawa under my rheumy 's care. They did echo's holitor ecg' s etc, and found a small hole in a valve but nothing lfe threatening. It is important to take the meds however becaue the heart needs to pump slower and thus stronger otherwise over a long time the heart muscle gets week. Please feel free to P>M be if you want to chat. The only side effect I dound is if it is increased I get a flushed face.

Take Care,
Janet

Maggie,

Last night I sent an e-mail to you, hoping that you would try not to be scared and frightened. Today, I read through all of the messages that were sent to you. You received much advise and information.

I am totally new to "chatting" over the internet. What I did see was that you were bathed with love and concern from all over the world. To me that is miraculous.

This is truly a magical web-site. Maggie, smile and enjoy the warmth of healing that I have seen transpire.

Maggie,
I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that your doc can better explain what is going on or has the sense enough to refer you to a Cardiologist.
Hugs,
Cara

Hey Miss Maggie May

Eric is a ticker trouble boy. He goes to the cardiologist on the 28th.

One thing they did say at the hospital though is to make sure that his Rhuemy is aware of it.

When we were at the Rhuemy yesterday he told me that about 85% of people with pace makers are HLA-B27 positive....hmmmmm

Try not to worry about it, and get it looked into. If you are not happy with this doctor, find another one.

Hugs
Lori

Hi Deborah

Yes, I have worn the holter monitor and have had 2 EKG's. My pulse rate is very eratic and races for a large part of the time over 150 Also, is is very irregular.
You say that you have to contact a doctor when it is over 145 and yet, in my case - nobody got excited at all ( except me )
I have only been drinking one real coffe in the morning - then no more. I suppose I should give up this one but I am in no way convinced that this is caused by coffee.
This has been happening to me since 1990 ( the same time that my knee was agonizingly painful - no diagnosis ) The reason I am so very alarmed now is that it has become so much worse. Since Christmas, it has REALLY escalated.

I hope I get answers soon too - At this point I need more than just pills, I want to know what is happening and how can we fix it.

Thanks Deborah

Bruno being somewhat of a troubleshooter suggests a career change. He offrs that he can guarantee that I will have no heart problems and if you quickly become a lawyer ( don't worry he got a guy who for $500 can make you a lovely diplom and instant lawyer) you will have no more heart woes.

As Bruno knows from his periodic employment of lawyers for what he calls professional extrication exercises lawyers ain't got no hearts and therefor e no heart woes.

I was going to answer each post but WOW - you have all out done yourselves

I thank you each and every one - even the Republican . You are so fabulous. I truly don't know how I would have managed the last couple of years without you.

This has been a very scary episde for me. More than that - I am becoming very depressed over it. I feel as if I am just waiting for " the big one ". This may sound silly but that's how I feel.
You have all helped lift my spirits emensly though.

Knowing that some of you, or your relatives, enjoy the same situation has also helped. I sorry that they have this too, but I feel comforted not to be the only one.

I spent a pretty sleepless night and had to work long hours today but nevertheless Propanolol has helped to slow it down for sure. I still have some skippy dippy weird things going on but not nearly as often. Feel very tired but not as exhausted as I felt when it was beating so fast all the time.
So, between the drugs and KickAS, I am much improved.

Now to tackle the problem of trying to get the doc to investigate further. Any suggestions in that area would still be much appreciated.

Thankyou so very very much everyone.

Maggie
