If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Saddened to hear that snooker player Chris Small from Scotland had to pull out a match this week. Chris suffers from AS and is now considering retiring from the game. Apparently he had some injections before the match at the weekend and this caused fluid build up behind his eyes so he was unable to carry on. Let's hope he manages to find relief somewhere in order to carry on his career. If I knew where his management Co were, I'd consider emailing him to try the NSD, even though it didnt work for me, but he seems to have tried all sorts of methods, including magnets strategically placed inside his clothing! Good luck Chris, hope you get through this to pot another ball. Daz All we are saying, Give Peace A Chance. -John Lennon

Didn't know that he had AS?
I knew he had been struggling with a back problem for years, but didn't know it was AS. He is not a bad player in fact and has actually won a "major" in the snooker world. I am amazed at his willingness to try anything so that he can play again, so Chris if you ever log onto this site - good luck with the fight. I know you will be standing when the bell goes for the ned of the fight.
Be good, but if you can't be good, be lucky

Daz, I really miss snooker as it is not really played here in the states and if it were, it certainly wouldn't be televised. I miss televised darts too, however, I console myself with actually being able to play either at the firehouse or the local pub. I have to admit that I haven't heard of this chap, but I think it would be great if he came here and saw how this place helps us all in all of our endeavours, big or small. Chris, if you ever read this, here's to your next 147. Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. --Benjamin Franklin

Hi Daz, I just searched Chris Small and sent several e-mail messages to sites that may contact him. Hello, It is my understanding that Chris Small is suffering from Ankylosing Spondylitis. If that is true I would like very much to invite him to visit the largest information and AS support site on the web, http://www.KickAS.org Many of our members, myself included, have found relief and have returned to a somewhat normal life through the help found there. If there is anyway I can contact him or if you would be so kind to forward this email on to him, I'm sure he would be grateful once he visited. Thank you, Peter Younghusband KickAS AdministratorI hope it will somehow find it's way to him. Gotta love the internet! Pete "Maybe the problems of two people don't amount to a hill of beans. Got a reply! HI we're getting a flood of mail this week on behalf of Chris Small. I will try and ensure this information is passed on to him and I'm sure he'll be grateful I'll be having a look myself as I have arthritis in my neck and tend to suffer quite similar problems to some of the AS sufferers Janie Watkins janiewatkins@tiscali.co.uk www.globalsnookercentre.co.uk. Hi Dakotadan I also emailed the sports sections of our national newspapers (Daily Record & Sunday Mail) where I have pointed them in the direction of kickas. I am pretty sure that Chris will have a look at the site if he hasn't already. He will surely find this to be an amazing resource in his fight against AS , let's hope we see him playing again pain free and pray that AS doesnt force him to quit. Yeah, even if Chris doesn't get the message, we've had some success. If I ever win the lottery, I'll have all three tables in my billard room:) I had a pool table for 10 years and it and I became real friends when I was recuperating from my spinal fusion in 1978. I've played a little snooker...enough to know it's a VERY challenging game. My hats of to anyone who excels in snooker! "Maybe the problems of two people don't amount to a hill of beans. Don't hold your breath.
Top sportsmen here in the UK with AS are likely to be pointed in the direction of Dr A Calin at the Bath hospital. I heard that Chris Small had steroid injections before the start of the tournament, something Michael Atherton (former English cricket captain) and a former Calin patient used to have to help him through competitions. With Calin 'alternatives' are not on the menu. Hopefully Chris has an open mind, because if he is to pursue a career spending long hours bent over a snooker table he will need better help than traditional therapies can offer.
DOCTOR: Therein the patient Must minister to himself. MACBETH: Throw physic to the dogs, I'll none of it.
'Then you should say what you mean,' the March Hare went on. 'I do,' Alice hastily replied; 'at least - at least I mean what I say - that's the same thing , you know.' 'Not the same thing a bit!' said the Hatter.

Hi Bilko Reading through newspaper articles, it appears Chris has been all over the place searching for help, even seeking the help of the physiotherapist at the Edinburgh football club Hibernian. One of the treatments he apparently had was having mice extract intraveneously - anyone ever heard of this? Let's hope he finds kick AS, at the very least he can get some moral support - AS can be a lonely disease. Daz All we are saying, Give Peace A Chance. -John Lennon
