Hi Sue,

It's great to see you hanging out here again Sue, which of course, makes you give us another great picture.

No, haven't completely lost my sense of humour but some days, it seems that it is the only thing I have left that is still working OK.

Hugs back at you dear lady,

George

Do you really think that 300 miles is far enough Ian?

George, I don't think 3000 miles is far enough, trouble is, she knows all the right buttons to push and angles to approach.

Therefore, in retrospect, I think I'll take a page out of John Cleese's book and offer the following to Lori:

I offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact, and was in no way fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice, and I deeply regret any distress that my comments may have caused you, or your family, and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future.

Ian

(Lori, am I forgiven? )

K, I'm off to bed, it's 1:00 am

I spend a lot of time at Distributed Proofreaders, http://www.pgdp.net, where people scan and proofread public domain books for Project Gutenberg. The software allows you to proof one page at a time, comparing an image of the actual printed page with the OCR text and making any necessary changes. Typically several dozen people will work on any given book, proofing as many or as few pages as they like. I mostly work on scanning—I've done some 50-odd books, including novels by Anthony Trollope and Victor Hugo, a book of Christina Rossetti poems, several pulp paperbacks, mysteries by R. Austin Freeman, etc. It's a fun way to spend a few minutes each day, and it makes me feel like I'm contributing something positive to the world.

Cristina, here's one to occupy the time, certainly brings back memories for me

http://www.80smusiclyrics.com/games.shtml

It's classic video arcade games from the 80's that you can play right on your PC. They have Pacman, Space Invaders, Frogger, Asteroids, Donkey Kong to name a few.

Hi Steven,

Welcome to KA - glad that you found us. How long have you lived with AS? I was intrigued by the proofreading project that you are involved with. It must be great fun. Do you get to choose the books that you want to proofread or are you assigned a particular text ? Interesting...

Post again,
Cat
