If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Martin, Good to hear from you , hope you are doing well? Thanks for your kind words and support, sound like ya know what I am talking about! Gees, I hope this goes away again - not much fun. It has come and gone over the last 6 months. I did have lots and lots of pain around the lower back, buttocks, groin, foot for years but never wrapping around the front and hips. I will keep everyone posted about my return to work next week. I suppose we just keep going till we cant (because you can talk to your workmates about it and they can be lovely but they just dont get it all.) Not like the folks here. Cheers Martin, stay well Debra

Hi, This is exactly what I feel when my SI's are inflammed. I know exactly when they are though as I have these fleshy like lumps under my skin that increase in size. It feels like I have a mass of about four to five all clumped around my left SI more so that my right and it is my left one that shows the most damage so far. I find SI pain the worst or atleast the worst along with pubis sypmh and mine generally go hand in hand when one flares the other goes out in sympathy. Must say those spasms are shocking....Literally!!!!! nothing like standing in the checkout line being caught off guard like somebody just zapped you from behind with 1000 volts but I look on the bright side of it and usually get a giggle out of the person in front of me who jumps ten foot in fright when I scream out suddenly, catching them completely off guard throwing their oranges and pickles all over the floor. Glad to hear your a bit better but I hope you have a full recovery very soon.. Sal

Hey Sal! How are you? Yes - I know those sudden spasms - like electric shocks, happen to me when I forget myself and try to walk fast I actually had more of those sudden pains earlier on (years ago) this is just a big pain in the hip! Hope you and yours are having a good week. Glad your'e not in North Queensland, that Cyclone looks like a big one huh? All the best, Debra

Yes I'm very Glad I'm not up north, I was relieved to hear that it has been down graded from a 5 to a four but with this type of climate that can easily go back up again. It is probably due to hit as I'm typing this so I hope most people do alright in it. The only thing that concerns me is that besides the towns there a many Aboriginal communities in the area that are not equipped to handle the strength of those winds. Many communities dont have the brick housing due to heat etc but hopefully being in the cyclone areas they have been able to find enough public shelter in cyclone proofed accomodation built for this kind of situation.
I have forgotten where abouts in Aussie you are ....its Melbourne isnt it? I think it might be about time for a Kickas party to be organised in Australia again! what ya think?
take care Sal

Sounds like SI to me. If it's hip pain you feel it deep in your groin. My left SI is fused, the right one trying to be, so my pain these days is usually on the right side, and you're right, it sends the back muscles into painful spasms.

Forgot to mention, one of the things that helps me with the pain is lidocaine patches, they're prescription, will numb small areas so long as the pain isn't deep (as in the hips, they don't help my hips at all). Sure beats chomping down a painkiller. The patches are all I use for pain these days.

Hi Cheryl, thanks for posting to me. I didn't know about the patches, thay sound like a good idea - Im intersested, I will speak to my Dr. Thanks for your advice about SI and hip. I think from these posts I have SI pain and associated muscle spasm, which seems to be settling with not to much activity this week. I have had the deep groin pain before, so maybe my hips are involved too? To add insult to injury my elbow has been touchy and very sore on waking, a bit swollen today. Obviously its all active! I know you have peripheral joint involement too. Have you been bothered with sore wrists and knuckles also? Take care, Debra

Hiya,
difficult to work it out sometimes as everyone else has said, SI or Hips.....
Some words to check are trochanters, and bursuritis which is inflamamtion of a "sack" near the joints that often get inflammed.
Stretch your lower back if you are beded down to minise the back stiffness, hope you get better soon.
David

Hi Davo, Glad to hear William is settling down some and wow what a swimmer (good aussie) Funny you mention Trochanter, showed as low grade swelling on the right in the October scan.(said couldn't dismiss a low grade bursitis). This is a bigger flare than October, but after no walking and working I feel better this Friday. Cheers Debra
