If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

For those that have read my story "my childhood hero is not the man of steel" I wanted to update you all on my condition. After stocking up on Embrel I left for the Bearing Sea in North Alaska. For over a month now, I have been riding out storms consisting of 25 foot seas and 50 knot winds. The snow is driving sideways and the ship has been iced over for weeks. We helped a fishing boat and a cargo ship both in trouble since we have arrived. Some days are far better than others. The cold temps of below freezing really makes you feel the pain in places you didnt before. I have been getting mirgranes following every shot that last for hours but I refuse to quit. I have noticed patches of really dry skin al over my body and hope that its just the cold but fear its something else. Tonight the pain in my chest feels like an elephant sitting on my ribs. I have another month to go and am determined to last this out. The ship has been rolling so bad that my hips are really getting a work out. My nose has been raw and red from the cold that I cringe just thinking about a tissue. As long as I can still make a difference out here, I plan to keep it up. I was just selected to be advanced to Chief in the Coast Guard so I cant back down now. I still dont know if they will give it to me, and my medical board is coming up when I get home but for now I am still making a difference and still holding my own in these icy seas. Thanks for all the kind words and support from the site.

Sounds like a fine adventure. I like being on ships, but I would want to be on a cruise ship where it is warm. Do you rescue the crab fishermen? I saw a story on TV talking about how that was the most dangerous job. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.

Hi Karl! It sounds like you're having quite a time up there. Good for you for persevering and all the good work you're doing.
Look forward to hearing from you again soon.
Hugs,
Kat
