Had it as a teenager and young adult, didn't know what it was, went away in my mid 20's, my hip got real bad when I was about 35, finally diagnosed because of the hip. I put 2 and 2 together and figured out that the mysterious red streaks in my eyes when I was a teen was iritis (mild). I have very good vision now.

had a bad iritis attack and my opthomologist asked if I was having hip pains / back pains.. I said yes and he sent me off to a rheumatologist to have me tested for the HLA-B27 gene!

couldn't shake the darn iritis, I was getting regular iritis attacks until I started on the No starch diet.

I've been Diagnosed with AS for 15 years, I'm now 32 and have had Iritis on 2 occasions within the last 5 years.

When I first had a problem with my eyes I went to the Doc and mentioned I have AS and that Iritis was a symptom, she said "You only think that because you've read it, this isn't Iritis".....................2 weeks later when it hadn't gone, I went to a specialist, and was diagnosed with Iritis.....Bloody Doctors!!!!
