If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Like much AS kickers, I tried lots of things before NSD and some after. When I started NSD (summer 2001) it wasn't so easy for me as today is for newcomers: no so much kickers on it, no informations neither in spanish, french or basque about it, my english level was (and it's still now) very bad, etc. Tried Cipro in these conditions, also Roadback Foundation's protocol, improved sometimes, and worsened after. Thereby, I'm not one good reference about antibiotic protocols. Furthermore, my AS is very stubborn.
Some fellows quote here the connection between Candida and AS, and -although that connection was in my own case only hipothetic, without any analysis- having one friend who knows about Apitherapy, I tried bee propolis. And that worked well for me. Maybe because it is both antibiotic and fungicide, but it has much others properties you can read about.
If you decided to try propolis, you must take some probiotics, as bifidus, lactobacilus, etc. , for restoring gut flora.
Pello.

Before my diagnosis I was taking ibuprofin like crazy- probably 5 times a day at double or triple the recommended amount. It was the only thing that would help. I started taking "vitamin I" before I'd go mtn. biking in anticipation of the pain as well. Once I got my diagnosis my doc put me on indocin 50mg 4x a day. That gave me great pain relief, but also a wonderful headache. She then cut my idocin in half and said to take it w/probenecid. The probenecid is a drug used for gout- it is supposed to help w/the uptake of the indocin. Taking that combination (50mg 2x a day of indocin w/500mg probenecid 2xa day) seemed to have the same effect on my pain w/out the headache.
One complicating factor- I have the ability to work from home as I work in real estate and so I've been taking care of our daughter and working from home. Anyone who has done that knows that it can be a bit isolating if you're not careful. I began to fight a bit of depression...only later to read on this site that indocin can cause depression. My goal now is to get off the meds entirely and stick to the NSD. Anyway, maybe you should ask your doc about indocin/probenecid combo. I'd much rather take meds twice a day rather than the 5 or 6 times a day that I was taking vitimin i.
I hope this helps. Bob
