If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Jeanna. I sure hope you get over this and get better soon, it sounds awful! When the pain goes away it's like a new day. I know, I sometimes get stomach waves/cramps (?) where I'm almost screaming while bent over. Hasn't happened in a while, thankfully.
Ray, did you say that on purpose?? Gaul stones?
All the best!
Timo

Hi Jeanna, I hope you're feeling a bit better by the time of this post. I have a story about my husband's gallbladder episode. He had his gallbladder out about 10 years ago. One night out of the blue, he awoke with extreme pain. The good news is that while they were doing the ultrasounds for the gallbladder a growth showed up on his liver. The reason it's good news is that we would never have known about it otherwise. Instead of doing the surgery laproscopically, they had to open him enough to view his liver. It turned out to be a benign hemangioma which was good news compared to what we thought it was. One unusual thing though, he had a small fall 3 days before that and broke his foot (left one). I always wondered if that possibly had anything to do with his sudden gallbladder attack. He still has the hemangioma and they do occasional ct scans to make sure that it has not grown any. I know from his episode that this is additional extreme pain on top of the pain from your flares. I hope it stays quiet for you while waiting to take it out. Hopefully they can do it laproscopically too. I'll be thinking of you, please let us know what happens. Take care. Wanda

Oh, Jeanna, you poor thing! I can really sympathize and empathize--I had my gall bladder out the old-fashioned way at the age of 28. I haven't missed it one bit so I definitely recommend getting rid of it! Feel better soon... Hugs, Connie

Poor Jeanna, I do hope you start to feel better soon. Get rid of that wretched gall bladder (and STOP blaming yourself!!!), and hopefully that should be the end of it??!! It's so easy to attribute everything to AS. Even our docs do it. I had to go for a 2nd opinion last year about my back b4 I could even get an x-ray done....GP and rheumy put all the extra pain down to "just the AS", but I knew something was very wrong It's only natural to feel angry and bitter about having "yet another thing" to deal with, on top of all the "normal" (for us!) cr**, but we all seem to have more than our fair share of "other stuff" to cope with, sadly......I guess, b/c we're in so much chronic pain anyway, it just seems like adding insult to injury Hopefully your ordeal will be over soon. At least you have Loz to support and look after you, and he knows, probably more than most partners, that you're not making this up! I'm sure he doesn't think you're "not pulling your weight around the house" either!! Take care and good luck. Hugs to you and Loz, Sue

Hey Jeanna, Sorry to hear about your little friend. I do hope you get to feeling better very soon. I know what "fun" laying around the house can be. I have not had gall bladder problems (knocking on wood) but sure have pushed a barrel of Morphine on those that have enroute to the ER. But Jeanna, you gave away the medical professionals secret code to going to the head of the line in the ER triage. Every medic knows "chest pain" gets you a first class seat in ER, boom straight to a room... Well enjoy your recoup tme. I'm sure the re-runs on TV already have you crazy. we'll get you a bell to summon the Loz when your drink get low, or your pillow need fluffed... Take Care Keep Kickin'AS or GallStones Chris

Jeanna dear....I truly hope you get to feeling better...
As has this way of kicking at us for awhile and its sometimes hard to distinguish whether our pains are AS related or something else.
As far as the gallbladder...I know of that all too well. I had my first gallbladder attack at about 4 months pregnancy with Sofia. They tried pain meds but my ob/gyn knew it was going to have to come out. At the time I also showed I was positive for the H. Pylori bug and I believe thats what messed me up so bad stomach wise. I couldnt take the triple antibiotics for baby bug's safety. So at 6 months they did the laser surgery. Everything went very well but pain continued...luckily for me I ended up with another c/section. Turns out I still had TWO more gallstones that stayed behind. The doc said they can slip away and thats why I STILL had pain and they thought it was just my tummy growing and sorenes..>NOT!!
Lucky for me I found a fantastic GI doc after and she helped me out. I was treated twice in 2 years with the triple pack for h. pylori. Since then I have been slowly better. One thing is diet is crucial. Some nurses told me yes you can go back to eating the way you did....i beg to differ !! My stomach was never the same. I stay far far away from tomatoes or tomato sauce..thats what set off my first attack. Its a terrible feeling and can imagine your grief of the pain meds not working and the ride to the hospital. It's been 6 years for me and I still remember the pain clearly. Dont worry...I was 31 then and was told it happens alot in pregnant women. One doc told my stepdad they are seeing it in teens now. Eating too much seasoned and spicy foods make it worse.
For me I follow a low starch. It has controlled my attacks tremendously. If not I start feeling like I'll faint and sharp abdominal pains and just downright ugly. It can last from 15 minutes to a few hours. Take good care of yourself and dont over do it. I know Loz is doing all he can to care for his luvvie..so hang in there....know that you are in my thoughts and prayers....much luv from bug]]
Hey Buggie,
two things here: have you been checked to make sure that you do not have an ulcer? H. pylori is implicated with gastric ulcers. Anyway I am glad to hear that you were successfully treated.
Second, interesting comment about tomatoes and tomato sauce. Do you also stay away from foods that use tomato paste? I am unable to eat tomatoes because they make me violently ill. I have to watch food labels to make sure that there is no tomato paste. I had a similar experience over time when I continued to use tomato paste in my food and was pregnant - that is when I finally understood that it was a no-no.

Hi Jeanna,
I am so sorry to hear that you have not been feeling very well. I have had a history of feeling queasy. I have never been diagnosed as having gallbladder problems, although it was suspected when I was a teenager.
Take care of yourself and yes, we all attempt to attribute everything to the AS. (BTW I have been in my flare since mid June).
Have a good rest and make sure that you are drinking plenty of purified water.
