Thank you Holly,

Ok guys I think I am being taken advantage of big time, tell me what you all think.

Today after we saw Ryan they werent going to let me get out the door, she was like we need a deposit. I said I dont have the money right now Bill doesnt get paid until the 15th.

I asked for a running tab for 1 day it is already $534.00 I was shocked!!!! She said we want to keep him at least 4 more days and it will be at least $150.00 a day ok by my calculation that would be around a $1200.00 vet bill.

I was like you guys are crazy, I told them I had a friend who just went thru the same thing with her cat and they kept her cat for 13 days and the bill was $350.00 and they are letting her pay it out.

By this time I was getting a little loud so she asked me to come into "THE ROOM" then the office manager came in....WITH my kids sitting there with me she said you have 3 options

1. You can apply for the pet care credit card, to which I said well with $25,000 in medical bills I doubt it will fly but we can try.

2. You pay us the $534.00 RIGHT NOW and even though we told you he was too sick to go home we will yank the catheter out and send him home and he will probly die in your arms.

3. Which is the one I liked the best...we will claim you have abandoned him and then we will euthanize him.

The only choice I had was to call my Dad and he got the credit card so Ryan is safe for now, I am going to get him out of there just as soon as I can. i intend to let everyone I know about this vet place. I have NEVER been treated like that almost like trash.

She said well you know if a person goes to the Dr. you have to pay, I said excuse me but I have about 25 bills a month I pay on.

I asked her if I could come in and work it off, I told her I would do anything, she said we DONT do charity work.

I did tell her well it seems to me that you are talking out of both sides of your BUTT you spend all day working on him and rack up $500.00 in fees but if I cant pay you will say I abandoned him and euthanize him, so you will take those charges and use them as a tax deduction but you wont let me work it off or pay it out.

Do you guys feel like I am wrong in how I feel??? I am SOOOO angry!!!!

Lisa

Oh that is not fair in the least. Any vet with any amount of compassion would be able to help you out in this case. That's ridiculous. I understand they have a business to run, but surely they could charge you less, or at least TRY to come to a reasonable compromise. Glad to hear your dad was able to help you out. It's just sad the way that had to happen. Poor Tori was probably stressed out all over again.
But sounds like Ryan is well on his way to getting better. That I'm happy to hear of. I'm sure not a millionth as happy as Tory must be.

You must have some very happy and healthy kitties.
I have tried nearly every human food, cooked, and raw, but the only "human" food that Maki will eat is marshmallows. Yep, you read that right. Marshmallow.
Oh, and he'd eat chocolate too if he could get his little begging paws on it!! Bad cat.
Other than that, he eats one kind of dry cat food.
My sister's cat absolutely loves fresh, raw mushrooms. Figure that one out.

Megan,

Thank you so much!

I really didnt think I was being unfair, I just didnt realize some vets are just getting so cut throat where their money is concerned.

I pray my little kitty is doing ok tonight...

We will get to see him tomorrow again,

Lisa

Good grief!! I think you should talk to the vet and avoid the office manager by all means. Charity work...now that irks me!

Hi Cara,

Its good to hear from you, i hope you and your family are doing well.

Yes, today is day 2 and we went to see Ryan and he is doing better YEA!!!!!

I would say almost 50% better, his eyes looked good he recognized us and just fell into our arms. He has one of those goofy lampshades I call them on his neck because he wants to lick himself and if he pulled that catheter out he would be in a world of hurt.

The Dr. called me today and said might get to go home on sunday or monday...ptttttt

the 2nd day total right now is $774.50

Me thinks if Ryan is doing better tomorrow (thursday) then Bill and I will bring him home on friday, regardless of what they say.

At this rate right now staying until friday will be a totoal of around $1100.00 at least if he stayed until monday add another $500.00.

I guess we wont be eating for the next year, or using toilet paper, or driving...lol

Let me know how you guys are,

Lisa

Ryan is doing better each day!

It does my heart good to see him get excited to see us when we go to see him.

I was saddened to see that there is still a little too much orange (blood mixed with urine) coming out of the catheter so it probly will be saturday at the EARLIEST he will be able to come home.

Balance as of today $812.25 somehow God will provide or show me a way of being able to pay for this.

Just wanted to give you guys an update,

Thanks for all the support, calls and pms over the last couple of weeks, ya'll know who you are and I love each and every one of you...

Hi Tori,

I am praying sooooo hard that your kitty Ryan is much better today. I love animals more than I can tell you. I have 2 tiny chihuahuas and they are just like little babies to me. So I know how you must feel and that you are very worried. Just remember, Ryan is at the doctors and they will take good care of him. He'll be home before you know it. Make sure you write a post on here so that I will know how you are both doing.

Love to you and Ryan,
Jessie

Hey Lisa,

The folks at that vet office sound like heartless jerks. I don't know why it would work any differently there than at a doctors office. Tell them you are unable to pay in full, but are prepared to put something down. Then pay a little every month. I really don't think they can refuse treatment when you are trying to work it out. Call the local TV station if they harrass you. Geez, what's wrong with people today??????

Take care,
Jessie

Hi Jessie,

Thank you for the support!

Well this is the 6th day Ryan is in the vet called yesterday (sat) and said there had been a little set back there was a little more blood coming out of the catheter. He said he thought the bladder was still inflamed. I was like (PING) since I am the princess of prednisone I said why dont you give him a shot of cortisone to relieve the inflammation. He said actually I was going to ask you about that. I told him about ALL of my experience with predinsone, of course I had asked the other vet about giving him prednisone like the 2nd day.

I am hoping to go to see him tomorrow (mon) and bring him home.

Will let you all know,

Lisa
