For those of you who remember me here is an update.
I have lost a total of 48lbs on a LSD and I am working out like there is nothing wrong with me. I'm currently playing hockey again, weight lifting, jogging and circuit training. Remicade is a miracle drug and along with my consistent PROPER diet I feel like a new man. I have energy to spare and my sitting heart rate is considered very athletic. 52 bpm....Not to shabby eh?? I have no further damage to my spine and my pain levels are tapering off to a bearable level. My rheumy is shocked at my progress and has no doubt that along with Remicade my persiverance has helped to overcome what I thought was the end of my active lifestyle. I really believe that my consistent exercise has helped with pain and stiffness and my diet has helped also. I hope everyone here at KA especially those newly diagnosed can get some inspiration from my amazing transformation. Good Luck and its great to be back at KA.....

Hey im new to this site... that is really nice to hear that you have your as undercontrol. I have had as for 12 yrs and have been on enbrel for almost two years. I feel the same way. I found i was lifting more weight, running faster, and my range of motion/flexibility is better then ever before. What kind of diet are you following? I have heard of certain food that cause inflamation.

Im not really following any specific diet. I eat a high protein and fibre diet and watch my carb intake. I eat carbs and starches but in natural sources only. No processed foods at all. I eat a gram of protein for every pound of body weight and I eat 5 to 6 times a day in three hour intervals. This speeds up your metabolism and keeps the body nourished throughout the whole day. I have also incorporated flax seeds into my diet for my essential fatty acids. I just make sure I eat good food rather than crap lol.

Scotty,

All I can say is WOW Guy!!!!

I am so proud of you, it sounds like you took the bull by the horns and just decided to set your mind to it and you did it.

I am so glad that it seems your body and your life seems to be agreeing with you.

We miss seeing you here, try not to stay gone so long, it is stories like yours that help keep the rest of us going and realize that there is hope.

Take Care,

Lisa

Congratualtions! I'm sure it's taken a lot of dedication to stay with the LSD plan, but it sounds like everything has really worked out! Thanks for sharing, it helps me have hope for the future!

Just goes to show you, that where there's a will, there will always be a way. You've taken a mult-faceted approach and attacked AS from all angles and it's worked and everyone should try it. Best wishes!
