Dear Dorrit,

I'm so very sorry to hear George died. "OldGeorge" is one of those people I remember welcoming me to kickAS when I first joined. What an amazing man...he'll be missed by so many.

Thinking of you and your family Dorrit

Much love

Take care

Dorrit,

Thanks for sharing your news with us.

George was very special to me. His posts and connection when I first joined this site meant a lot. I'll never forget him and how kind and funny he was with me.

I'm sad.

“One final paragraph of advice: do not burn yourself out. Be as I am a reluctant enthusiast…a part time crusader, a halfhearted fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it… while you can. Dearest Dorrit,

I don't spend nearly as much time on KA these days as I would like. I had hoped in my absences that OldGeorge and I had missed each other. I had even gone as far as to search for his username a time or two, but sadly there were no posts from my dear friend.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. If George was able to have as much of an impact on us as he clearly did, across the miles and using nothing more than his charming kind words on a computer screen, I can't even fathom the impact he had on those who shared in his daily life. It was clear to all of us that he thought the world of you Dorrit. I hope that your pain eases little by little day by day and that your memories and cherised times warm over you.

George was a wonderful friend to myself and Loz. The three of us used to share 3 way e-mails before Loz and I dared to realise how much in love we were. During the early days when we were tentative about sharing our relationship with everyone on KA, George was a great advocate of us and our love. I cherished every one of our interactions greatly (even if it was to joke about making Beer Floats as a way to gain some weight, much to the dismay of my now husband!)

I'm gutted that we never got to meet face to face (Loz and I did consider a quick trip to BC during one of his trips to Canada when I was a medical student, but sadly as is the fault of youth, I always thought there would be another time in the future).

If there is anything we can do Dorrit, please do let us know.

Very much love,
Jeanna and Loz

Dorit, I am so sorry to hear this, all my sympathy and good thoughts go out to you and your near ones. Though I don't come here as frequently lately I do missed the posts of George. When scanning threads I always looked out for his sympathic picture knowing that a good hearted and often humorous post was next to it. He sure had impact, he wrote like I wished I could write and I am sure his writings also had impact on the nice place Kickas always has been. He will be missed more then I can realize from here.

Dear Dorrit,
I havn't been by the KA site for a few weeks and missed your post about George.
I am very sad to hear this this news about my old friend.
I don't remember if George began posting to Brian Hasrris' site or the original KA site, but I do remember "Old George" joining the group, back in the early days.
I will miss him very much.

Dear Dorrit,
I'm very sorry to hear about your husband George. He was one of the few people I remembered from long before I started posting on this forum. I always enjoyed reading his posts. He was a very nice person to talk with, and he has been helpful to me on several occasions. He will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.
James.

Dorrit,

I am so happy to see the amount of post showng such support for George. I've not been able to read everything everyone has said but would be happy to chip in on a memorial for George if you need.

Even if it is just a webpage designed for his remembrance and share his life with others. I can and would help design or design such a page to tell his story if you want.

Brent
