If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Weird - I found some papers that say that Klebs can easily mutate to eat Xylitol, but what they dont say is at what cost - I am still trying to find out how that changes the bacteria...

more reading - ok it appears that the changes required by Klebs to eat xylitol somehow alow it to take the xylitol inside the bacterium - from that I guess that there must be surface changes on the bacterium, and my wild speculation: what if we can get Klebs to mutate in such a way that the antibodies our body produces change (hey if the surface of the bacterium is altered) - and no longer cross react with our particular genetic mutation? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Hrmmm -
xylitol has been shown to inhibit biofilms in the mouth... I wonder if it could be inhibiting or dispersing klebs biofilms in the gut??
Lets see - I could try 24 hours of meals consisting of xylitol and celery (raw) to scrape it all away.....

I got a bag of pure xylitol at whole foods. Great laxative, btw.

Yes, but they could easily feed on glucose and sugar and yet neither of these cause inflammation. Simple carbohydrates like sugar, glucose and xylitol are obviously safe..why!? perhaps due to increased competition among microbes in the gut.
Also, we assume that klebs are the only suspect. There may be others..?

So .. perhaps that means the microbes will not be clinging to gut wall as easily?
source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biofilm
"A biofilm is a complex aggregation of microorganisms marked by the excretion of a protective and adhesive matrix. Biofilms are also often characterized by surface attachment [..]"
Sounds like an important feature for any infectious microbe..

>> Where do you get it? I bought mine at a big discount vitamins shop. Try to find a really big health food shop, pharmacist or vitamin shop.. or something along those lines. == Glycemic Index == Xylitol is useful for diabetics due to it's very low GI.. it has a Glycemic Index of 7! Compare that to white bread which will have a GI of about 100. [see: http://optimalhealth.cia.com.au/gi17.html]== Fatigue? == I think the low GI means xylitol could be very useful to people on the NSD who are experiencing fatigue.. particularly when starting the diet. Xylitol is still an energy source.. it has about 60% of the calories of sugar. >> Great laxative, btw. hehee.. yeah that was my experience too
