Hi megan

Really sorry about that, was there any particular reason why your doctor won't prescribe it or was there just not enough improvement? There has only been a couple of days where i wouldn't go out in the car, because for the moment its not been happening everyday. I really do hope this improves for you Megan you seem to be having a really tough flare at the moment, like you said this on top of everything else is overbearing, I hope the radon mine helps.

Love laura xxx

Laura,

Menieres is a (ops can't say that here). Sorry to hear you have it adding to your problems. I was diagnosed in the early 90's with it. I lay on my sides to sleep and have to put my hand between my ear and the pillow or it has a feeling of water running out of my ear, but there is no noticable drainage.

Be careful when standing up and move slow when you start walking from a standing position. If you move to fast you may end up in another direction than you had planned to go in. I have never had any meds for mine although I keep hearing they do have some out now.

Hi Bret

Yep its not a nice one, the only other thing i've been trying is sleeping with earplugs in initially because Neil is a restless sleeper and a snorer whom of course says he is not! The ear plugs at least have allowed my ear canals to remain open, if my ears were very sore the ear canal itself began to shut and I too had that running sloshing water sensation, then I'd go around trying to make my ears pop. The only time I really lost my balance really really bad (and yes it was daft) Harris was doing "dizzy Lizzy" spinning around and wanted up in my arms to do them, well i'd only done about 3 and put him down, I literally had to grab both kitchen counters, and sit with my head stretch forward I'm sure i experienced G force that night ROFL. I guess I'll just have to learn to behave myself too! No fun, good excuse for not going on fairground rides. Hoping I have some sucess from these tablets.

Hugs Laura xx

Laura, I understand what you're saying. I know full well that all we can do is take one day, sometimes one moment at a time.

I still admire the hell out of you for your poise with this, however.

Many hugs,

Kat

Sorry to read about your vertigo and the Meniere's diagnosis. I am bery interested though because I have begun that battle recently myself.

Horrid battles of spontaneous vertigo, Mostly when laying down at rest but had one yesterday at work that scared the Dickens out of me.

WOuldn't wish it on anyone.

Doc's have not given it a name. Unspecified, asymptomatic vertigo sounds mysterious enough and so that's what they're callin' it. Head a check of my noggin' nothing found. Ear testing to the extent they could but since my neck is so fused I could not controt my head into needed position for Doc's idea of complete testing.

Hope you find a med that works for you. RIght now they give me some antivert(meclizine) and I cross my fingers.

Laura,

Very interesting about the earplugs when sleeping, I may have to try it and see if it helps me. It is hard to go to sleep or for me it is when your hand in under your head to separate the pillow from the ear to stop the draining feeling. Sounds like you had quite an experience playing dizzy lizzy. But the others I mentions about standing or starting to walk at least for me is not a daily occurrence, but may happen once every six months to a year then I am looking for something to grab a hold of to keep my balance. Hoping they will get yours cleared up enough you do not reach this stage.

When it first started I thought I had gotten water in my ear in the shower or swimmers ear. On my next appointment with my doctor at the time he said my ear was infected but there was nothing he could do for it at the time. He gave me antibiotics for a sinus infection which made my ear pop and crack the whole time I took them. Afterwards it was right back, I told him I thought maybe more antibiotics would clear it up and he said it was Menieres and there was no cure. They have come quite a ways in treatment options since then though.

Hi Steve

Sorry your having to put up with this as well, I do know where there is cervical fusion this becomes very common, I am now projecting forward because of the fusion in my cervical region. Basically with the skeleton be out of it centre of gravity/alignment, the middle ear just can't readjust this alien new position and over compensates, and sends us spinning. Oh Lovely. You'd think everything else would be enough! Have you'd tried any meds for this yet with any effect? I did have a really good nights sleep will no ear pain whats so ever, which was great haven't had that in years, so I'll see how it goes.
Hope you find something that will help you, feeling G force on a daily basis sure aint funny!

Hugs Laura x
