Hi Brent

Just had to get back to you ASAP, Try the 3M foam earplugs first the wax ones will hurt your ears, I just get mine in our local hardware store because the same thing in the pharmacy is way expensive.

Now this noise in your ears (sloshing popping cracking) and the Doctors. Does you face swell up just in front of you ears on your face, because this sounds very like the Otitis related to AS i was talking about. I started with this in about 92, I ended up having to be hospitalized twice a year for about 2 weeks at a time with IV antibiotics, at one point it was so bad they treated me for meningitis, with Cloramphenicol IV. When I was in hospital, and in the later years just going in daily, I have had to have my ears backed with gauze soaked with (i think) betadine, this was done every day for 2 weeks and they also suctioned my ears everyday to remove debris and keep the canal open. If I called my GP at the start of an attack he would tell me to go straight to the ER.

Have you asked for an ENT consult, because it is extremely hard to get to the route of this type of infection with oral antibiotics alone, and its very common just to get one ear cleared and the the other flare, hence an IV drug is quicker to kill the infect and stop the transfer internally. It sounds like this is exactly what was happening to me at the onset, and that is extremely painful. I will search the internet and see if I can download my Professors AS/ears paper and post here. Because there seems to be quite a few of us creeping up with this.

I hope we can get you sorted out too.!

Hugs Laura x

Hey Sweetie.
I have been thinking of you today and your tests. Have you heard from your MRI besides the Meniere's.

I have had that for mny years, since about the mid 70's but had no clue it was disease related. I have spent many days in bed not being able to turn my head. I HATE that problem. I take an antihistamine when I need it and the ENT suggested when it was really severe to add a 2mg. valium and does calm it down.

I will talk more to you soon.

Sam is here! I am still in a lot of pain and I guess we will see what happens after this week but whatever it is it will be worth it. Little boys are worth about anything, right? I am smiling at the thought of our precious Harris.

Love you. Talk to you soon. Can't stay here long

Hi Mom

No results at all from the MRI (no news is good news)The Meniers was diagnosed by my GP given my autoimmune history and my troubled ears, i am hoping this is unrelated to the reasons why they wanted to do the MRIs. GP was saying that at least from the MRI we would be able see the extent of fusion in my ears too.

I'd forgotten Rhonda and the gang were down for there holidays, give the kids a big hug from auntie Lollie. I hope Sam has a ball, and has you in fits of laughter, its the best medicine!!! Just no cartwheeling in the garden with them.

Love you guys! Laura xx
