thanks for the update......
very curious how the "experiment" continues to go.......
this is one thing i've thought about if all the other current leads go nowhere.....

the new rheumy wasn't against LDN.......he had never heard of it, didn't even know what i was talking about, so made a mental note to take in literature next time if its something that i want to consider.

I have a lot of info gathered, when you are ready and want something to take to him. Just send me a note with your email address.

Hello, just checking in to update my experiment with LDN.

I have increased my dosage to 3mg, and honestly, I am experiencing more pain now than right after I started at 1.5mg. What's up with that? Well, the pharmacy says to hang in there, that many people don't get relief for months after they get on the 4.5mg dosage. Okay, I will continue to see this through.

On the up side, I have not had the horrible restless leg / all over (overwhelming) body aches at night any more or the scalp pain or headaches, just nerve pain (shoulders, sciatica and SI joint). Maybe it's the weather, ha-ha.

The jury is still out on this for me. Will stay in touch!

An update to my last update...

Yesterday morning, I sort of accidentally ate some chocolate (realizing only after eating the thing that it had chocolate in it) and within six hours my legs started that horrible aching. Oh, heck...I was a goner for sure...meaning, I was in for a most WRETCHED night. Nothing left to do but hang on and weather it out.

Well, my boyfriend shows up with a gift from one of his patients, a sweet little Cuban grandma who bakes possibly the World's Best Flan.

Normally, I would have wished him "good eating" and not have any of this World's Best Flan because I cannot tolerate dairy. Dairy makes me ache from head to toe for an entire night. But, since I KNEW I was already in for a wretched night anyway, I decided Oh, What the H*ll, and cut myself a nice big slice. I mean, I was already in trouble, why not just enjoy the moment for all it's worth...I'll be paying for it either way. I ate the flan and OH MY, how YUMMY!!!

Okay, so here is my point. There was NO FLARE. I went to sleep and slept soundly all night. Nothing happened. ??? Maybe I've healed enough that I could tolerate the dairy or maybe the LDN is working or both? I don't know, but am mentioning it because before LDN, if I had eaten that flan, I would have been in agony all night. I did get a response from eating the chocolate, but even that was short-lived, ending before I went to bed.

I don't plan to push my luck on this, but it is certainly encouraging.

That's all for now!

I have also been on LDN 4.5mg for 10 months now and have had the same effects as you Drizzit. It was more of a slow improvement but now my AS is feeling better and my Ulcerative Colitis has improved 100%. I also had the vivid dreams (not scary) and I still get them some but I think I've gotten use to it so it's not really a big deal. The tip is to not watch a scary movie before bed when you first start this prescription (Skip from Skip's Pharmacy in Florida told me this and it helped me).

Was moving in on the day you posted so missed this thread - and then was sans PC for a couple of months.

LDN - how are you doing on it?

I am now on 6mg. Have been taking it for about two years now. Seems to do the trick cause IF I run out, or, forget to take, then know that I have missed it!

Longest time without my dose was about 3/4 weeks and had to start again with a lower dose and work upwards again (doctor's recommendations).

Did throw an almighty SI flare whilst on it: that was last June (couldn't walk at all hardly, for two weeks and then was pretty incapacitated for several more weeks.) Had to resort to breakthrough pain meds. Also had a jaw flare a couple of weeks ago and had again to resort to breakthrough pain meds.

Have never had any vivid dreams though...how boring 'smile'.

Would be most interested in your update.

Take care -

Meant to say Zernike, that Barngoddes (Bridget) was the first to post on LDN use. She swears by it. Got her walking and moving again when she had been incapacitated for a vry loooong time! She had/is having an amazing result.

Put in a search for LDN - lot of info here in the forums on it. It was Bridgit who pointed me in the right direction - and I bless her for it every day I hope that you have the same good results. Do please continue to keep us posted, yes?
