Hi Yall....I've been sick on & off for the last 3 weeks but I was coping with it pretty well...everyone you talk to here has been suffering from allergies for the last month and while that usually is not a problem for me, a few weeks ago, I starting sneezing and I was getting horrible headaches after being outside for any length of time....I've been using my AYR saline nasal kit and gargling with warm salt 3x a day, faithfully....not only was I still able to function, I seemed to be successfully avoiding a doctor visit... Well, I started running a significant fever the last couple of days and I finally folded at almost midnight last night and went to the ER....after a few tests and chest x-rays, he diagnosed me with pneumonia and a sinus infection.... He sent me home with prescriptions...a Z-Pack, 10-days of Amox and cough syrup w/promethazine & coedine...so, if my posts tend to not make sense, yall will know why...

Chelle,
Be very careful. Two men in thier 40's died from pneumonia here in WY. A new strain, more like a virus is making its way into our culture.
Please get well soon.

Hi Lon, thanks for the warning, I wonder if that's why he put me on two different antibiotics? This isn't very fun, that much is for sure! ...how's Lin feeling? Talk to you soon....

Thanks Molly...I put in a call this morning to the clinical trial doctor because I was wondering that too....also, if I were still on Enbrel, I would have to stop taking it until I was well again, so I'm wondering if the same applies to this biologic...

Yes, Lon's correct (why wouldn't he be?), pneumonia is nothing to mess around with. I had it some four or so years ago. I was one of three or four folks in the building in which I worked that were diagnosed with pneumonia around the same time. It took me three rounds of antibiotics to kick the [**BLEEP**] thing.

Kind Regards,
Jay

Sorry to hear you are so ill..please take care.. I have a quick question.. Before I started Methotrexate years ago. I had to be vaccinated for pneumonia. When I started Enbrel in December I did not have to be vaccinated again b/c I guess the vaccine last a long time.. Did you have the vaccination?

Peace,
Tamara

Dear,
Lin is gaining. Very tired. She has had to work some evenings plus the day shift to cover flu and pnemonia vacines at firehouses and such. I am so glad she made it thorugh this. I tear up when I think about how wick she was.
Snow cold wind but some sun here today
Please get well..

When a young healthy person (sept) for AS gets this stuff it can be concern. I hope by now that you are much better?
