WONDERFUL REVELATION, LON! Amazing how Perfect love casts out all fear.... God is love, so when we chose to love, it shows the true heart of God. And, even the most hardened heart can be tenderized by persistent & unconditional love. It is a sad world where that kind of love is rare.

Lon - Inspiring. But then, *you yourself are inspiring - you drove those 600 miles, on your own, and when in a bit of a physical AS fix. We sure are soooooo lucky to have you here to cheer us onwards. Your account was truly *wondrous, it was like being there, sharing that experience of meeting your mother. A truly gracious lady. Lon, thank you so much for sharing your mother with us. Thank you.

I just don't know what to say except I am so sorry for what you are going thru.

This month is hard for me with the 5th anniversary of my precious Mother's passing on 3/30

I will keep all of you wrapped in my prayers.

Lots of Hugs,

I am sorry your mom is at this time of her life. It sounds like the world will lose a wonderful loving human. But her legacy is you. For that be proud of your mom. Love Patty

I am glad that you are able to be with her at this time Lon- my mother died at 68 unexpectedly. And my stepmother left due to Alzheimer's, and very few days go by that I do not regret that we couldn't make our way up to New Hampshire to see her in the last few years of her life. My stepbrother told me that she didn't even remember my father during that time, but after she passed, I learned that she had my picture next to her bed, I would sure rewind the tape now and re-edit that scene if I could!!!

Dear Lon,

I am very sorry to hear of your mother's health problems and to learn that she is in such a dire condition.

I hate the circumstances that led you to write this post Lon, but those circumstances cannot hide nor lessen the beauty of what you have written here about your mother. All of us here at KA know without a doubt that you absolutely ARE like your mother, Lon, as you show love for your fellow KA members with every word you write on these pages. Not only that, but the beautiful tribute you have written to your mother in this post are another expression of your love and show very clearly just how much you already follow your mother's beautiful lead. I'm sure that even with her health failing, your mother can see that love in you and know that she passed on to you the most precious gift in the world, which is the ability to love others and be loved by them. Your words here were so eloquent that I felt as if I was there by your side as you prayed and said goodbye, and, more than that, I feel as if I understand exactly the kind of woman your mother is and what she means to you. It is clear that she is a very special woman who brightens the lives of every person she comes in contact with every day, a rare ability that will never change no matter how sick she is. I know with certainty that she has brightened my life today, meaning I am now one of the hundreds, if not thousands, of people who will remember your mother and her lessons of love even after she has passed--all because you chose to share with us your feelings about your beloved mother. Thank you for that, Lon, and thank you for reminding all of us how powerful love is, and how it is one of the most important things in our lives.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mother in this difficult time Lon.

Brad

As if your plate isn't already full enough...

After reading your post the first thing that came to My mind was send my prayers and express my sincere sorrow for your mother. But I read it again, and while as always you and your's are in my thoughts and prayers, I don't believe that your mother would want sorrow in her picture. Your words were nearly an exact replay of my grandmother's passing. The aids and nurses loved her, because like your mother, she gave love unconditionally to them. They all became a part of our family at that time. Love is a very powerful gift, both to give and receive.

While I know there is grief at times like this, it is also a time to find peace. It seems that the one that is at Heaven's Gate is always the one that gives the peace and the strength at this time. My grandmother held on to her life here until I got to be by her side and she held My hand as I whispered to her that I was there and everything OK now. I can only hope that you have the chance to hold your mother's hand at that time as well.

Keep Kickin'AS

Oh Lon,
I wish so that I could send as comforting words as your words have always been to others. I have in fact used your words to help friends in need here in my life. Thank you for sharing them and this difficult time. I hope our strength reaches you through the web.
I'm going to my Mom's today. Thank you for that.
