Hey Rob-

The Birthday was shweet. Breakfast in bed from my kids. an afternoon movie with girl friends. dinner with hubby. it doesn't get any better than that!! okay maybe it does, but considering I'm a nearly crippled, conservative, church going young woman, that was a remarkably full day for me!! I napped for 3 hours on Saturday to make up for it!!

I'm still amazed I made it to another birthday!

Has your itchiness gone away yet?? It took me 2 weeks.

take care-
D

Hey...
I got the sciatica dx for 10 years ( and spent that whole time in unecessary pain) before I had toatal physical followed by mental meltdown... i'm sure its part of it but if I had xrays 10 years ago I woundn't be as damaged as i am now at 32... Man your health system sucks over there... how much is insurance? If you're on the AS path... i'd say it's invaluable..... I spent 4 grand on AS related stuff the last 6 months and being as lucky as we are hear in aus.. i think i paid about 500 out of that..... Hope all sorts out.
Rob..

ps. I got the glass rope analogy whilst watching the Kite Runner.... It's a great movie and even better book... check it out! ; )

pps. how was the birthday D?! ; )

That's just it; I can't get insurance BECAUSE I have AS. And yes, our healthcare here in the states is pathetic, especially when compared with other major countries. Here's hoping that the smart people of this country have their say, finally, and we'll get a better program under the current administration -- it's one of the reasons I voted for him.

It happens while I'm standing; I'll step the wrong way or shift my weight the wrong way and wham. It's pretty bad right now, to the point where the pain (non-stabbing) is continuous. I'm also really lethargic and even more flu-like than usual. Yuck.

Hi again, petesimac:

I had this for many years. Reminds me of the old commedy routine doc, it hurts when I do that. Doc: "Don't do that."

These are partial pseudoarthroses--just like a fractured vertebra. Exercise could make it worse and it might take longer to heal.

The stage of fibrosis is very painful, since there is enough fusion and osteophytes to cause problems. Cactus spine (broken glass covered rope is pretty good) was my bane for many years.

Yeah, there is plenty You could do, but the eventual fusion will make is so You can't move that way, so won't "...do that."

Regards,
John

Thanks for that, John, and I really do try not to do "that", but when I accidentally do do "that" boy does "that" hurt (I said do do, huh, huh). Here's hoping I fuse soon, cause man is this the pits.
