I know its difficult a feeling you cant describe in your tummy.
You will find you feel better after it sort of takes away the helpless feeling and leaves you with the good memories.
Like the end of a chapter only you know she will always be there looking over you and you will be together again in a better place. Also she will be watching to see whos there and saying to her self they look smart or she dont look good in that hat Or old grumpys turned up from down the street. A typical mother .I hope it goes well for you Im sure it will.
God bless
Kevin

Thanks Lisa, the service went well, everything was beautiful....now that it's over I feel calm, it's hard to let go but I'm so thankful that Mom isn't suffering anymore, the last 2 years have been really bad....big hugs, my friend...

I'm very glad the service made you feel good. I read that you were struggling to get ready to go but I guessed that once you got there, the support of others and the celebration of your mother would have a positive impact on you. We all have to go one day - it seems to me that we live on in those who love us and when we are loved hugely, as you love your mom, then we live on in a larger-than-life way. Your mom will always be there for you - you just have to think about her and there she will be.

You are a special person, Michelle, with great strength. Take good care of yourself.

Michelle, I identify so much with the not being able to get ready. My wonderful beautiful mother-in-law had been with us at the last before she died. I loved that lady so much. When she died and we took her back "home" for the service and burial, I got there with nothing for me. No dress, no shoes, no unmentionables, nada. It was like I just wasn't going to do that. I wore one of my s-i-l's dresses but did have to go buy shoes so I wouldn't wear tennies and of course, other things. I think I was in complete denial that I was going to bury her.

I really know how you were feeling. A strange feeling of "It's not happening."

I have thought of you so much that I kind of feel the same relief that you were talking about. I think having the struggles with the Lupus for so many years myself has made me identify with your Mom and losing our parents, I identified with you.

Love you sweetie. Get some rest.

Joyce

Yes, I kept thinking that it wasn't really happening, surreal and it still does, I have my moments and I wanted to let you know that I spoke of you to Mom on many occasions, she always asked how you were doing, the Lupus connection was there....I worry about you a lot because I know how Lupus can ravage the body...a horrible disease....and I told Mom about Benlysta as soon as I heard about it...I really appreciate all of the prayers and thoughtfulness you've shown me throughout this horrible ordeal, you are so kind....
