I wish I could say I was feeling better but still in quite a down mood.. tried to counter act it with some wine and watching some episodes of the office.. and it worked for a while but im down again today :S..

anyway thanks for the support, ill snap outta it soon hopefully.. might suspiciously coincide with end of the uni year hehe..

Big hugs to everyone,

Sonja

Hi Sonja, your fears are completely understandable. Good grief, when you're first diagnosed with this thing it's hard to know how you'll get through the day, let alone the next 50 years!

Eventually, you come to a point when you've learned coping tools that help you, and you start to realise that you can live with this. You might not be able to overcome it completely, but it won't be as overwhelming anymore. It just is what it is. We all go through something akin to the stages of grief with a diagnosis like this and we all deal with it in the way that works for each of us. You'll work your way through, I have no doubt.

Keep coming here and talking about it, OK? Holding the fear in is the worst thing you can do.

Hugs,

Kat

Hey Sonja,
Good to see ya over here too..

I have read your post and re-read it. And sit here say Yep, Uh Huh, Been There, so I guess I am a complainer too...

The brght side is that I have quite a few years on you and things aren't much worse than they were 10 years ago. Granted I have gone bionic, electronic, can open the neighbors garage door, change the TV channel, and jump start my truck, all from the comfort of my recliner since the stimulator implant.

I have popped a few more discs, but you roll with it. If there is one thing that I have learned from being on this site, it is that there isn't an ounce of "Give Up" in any of us. And I am embracing the "Its gonna hurt regardless" attitude that has taken root here. It is gonna hurt, so what? If I sit here and worry and feel sorry it hurts, if I go play golf it hurts, Gina is going to be our first lady cage fighter, Michelle has taken back her life on the shrimp boat, and Lon has tackled a motorcycle. I guess what it boils down to is...It is what it is!! So don't let it stop you from living!

Oh and while you are home next year, you can send your boyfriend up to the States, I could use a hand in the shop, and some one to carry my golf clubs...

Grab Life By The AS% Sonja!! Enjoy Everyday Of It!!

Keep Kickin'AS
Chris
