If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Everyone,
We are finaly getting mangoes in Melbourne and although I haven't over induldged I think they may have caused a flare in my SI and middle back? The only other different diet change has been a few fancy dates ? Does anyone have a problem with mangoes ? I have yet to find iodine in Melbourne but will keep looking.
Thank you all

Tracey,
How was the trip to Disneyland???
I ate a mango last weekend and was OK. I do dates on a regular basis - but only 2-3 cos they're so sweet I don't want to tempt fate...
You should be able to get iodine in any chemist/pharmacy here. If you have trouble, PM me and I will put some in the mail for you, or maybe we could rendezvous for coffee at a halfway point to 'hand over the goods'?
Louise (looking forward to the school holidays - off to the Grampians for the first week, then sadly back to work...)

When I got my first bottle of iodine, I was testing everything - even things that I had no intention of eating. Since I was avoiding sugars, I wasn't considering eating mango, but I did test it to satisfy my curiosity. The mangoes I tested tested positive for starch. Maybe the trick is finding one that is super ripe...
Good luck!

Hi, TraceyB:
Mangoes, outside of where they are actually grown, are usually too starchy. When in Philippines I eat them with impunity, but fruit starches like this are some of the most dangerous, so testing is imperative! Dates are safe except those coated with flour of course...

Hi ,
We have just returned from our holiday to the US. WOW!!! What an amazing experience ,a fabulous place with lovely people! I didn't eat any mangoes over there but on my return I got all excited and have shared a few with my daughter and I think I am now paying the price.
I haven't had any for 3 days now so I shall see how long it takes to feel better.
Louise , thanks for your iodine offer ! I must not be lazy and will find some soon , I think before our trip my heart wasn't in it but I have less on my mind now so will try harder! The kids and the adults LOVED Disneyland and everythoing else . We wish we had had longer and are saving up for another trip in the next 5 years or so!

Hi Tracey, Your posting re mangos and dates is timely. I was on the diet for about a year and found that I was eating more and more raisins and sultanas with my salads to make them palatable (which I thought would be OK). When I took them out my Irritable Bowel improved immediately. Over the next year I slowly shifted to snack on more and more dates - up to ten in a day. Dates have a very high sugar content 63g/100g and although they are supposed to be OK (and didn't appear to exacerbate IBS) I am wondering if they have been related to my increasing thoracic/cervical stiffening. Maybe some of us have to worry about sugar as well as starch As for mangos - thanks Dragon Slayer, I'll take them out as well. Cheers David P.

Hi Kurimi,
I must admit I struggled a bit while away especially with breakfast but I ended up eating a lot of apple , pears , prunes and almonds and sometimes strawberries when I found them.
Once in Anaheim we found The Cheesecake Factory which ended up being my saviour. They had lovely varied salads and I had grilled salmon most days and sometimes chicken. In fact over our 2 1/2 weeks away we went there 9 times!! 6 in Anaheim,3 in Vegas & 1 last time in Hawaii!
Aeroplane food was my other problem and the fruit and dried fruit came through for me again.
