OMG Sam - this guy has totally lost it! This reads like a comedy sketch. No phone repeats???!!! Well that's just crazy.

And I would too phone a specialist about problems/side effects/concerns with meds. I'll call whoever is the 'prescribing' doctor (if my pharmacist can't help) and my specialists and GP have always called me back, are generous and happy to help.

Oooh but don't you wanna make another appointment, just to go in there and STARE at Maureen! laugh2

I realise that docs in some of our rural areas are just overwhelmed but wow. I am so sorry that you aren't having better luck in finding the care you need Sam.

Hugs to you!

I live in a rural area, Mig, but I've NEVER come across anything like this. Just blows my mind and I think a complaint must be in order to the local Health Authority. There's something really wrong with this picture. Could check out WebMD and see what others have to say about this guy.

Wow, Sammee. It was bad enough when you told me about it the other night, but reading it was just shocking. It's just as well this creep won't see anyone more than once. Who'd ever want to go back??!!!

Warm hugs,

Kat

Hey Lisa, I had the same thought. Send a copy to the College of Physicians and Surgeons. Don't know if they could do anything, but surely they'd care that a doctor doesn't care.

Warm hugs,

Kat

Wendy, unfortunately, the rural area in which Sammee lives is one of the most lacking in healthcare resources. Which is odd, considering it's a massive tourist area. But that's half the problem. The government sees all those tourist dollars hitting the area for 4 months out of the year, and decides that the actual residents, who have to live there year-round, are RICH! The only good thing that Mike Harris (Conservative Premier in 1990s/early 2000s, did was deem them a northern community, which entitled the area to more government subsidies.

Sadly, our current Liberal Premier revoked that status and they are back to subsistence level subsidies that do not come anywhere near helping. The state of doctors in that area is truly pathetic and Sammee is not the only person living there that has a horrible doctor. My stepdad's isn't much better; although, he'll at least see people more than once.

Warm hugs,

Kat

Oh my. He sounds as if his profession (caring for the sick) wasn't the right choice for him. I guess reading that does make me appreciate my own doctor a little more. Thanks for sharing.

This is absolutely amazing. Please listen closely and keep this in mind all of you folks in Lower America who want Obama's healthcare.

I'm very very glad I have the Dr. that I have. He meets with me whenever I have a problem, and usually I get in the same day. He will sit with me, sometimes up to 45 minutes, to find out what he calls the "real" problem. And he's "just a GP" too. I'm so sorry that our northern brothers and sisters have to put up with this kind of .....
Sorry, I censored myself.

Hi Samzee,
I'm sorry that you have this "specialist" as a new doctor. I hope everything besides this letter goes well though. Just remember to not make eye contact lol wink3 This person isn't for real.

Take care,
Jams
