If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi Beef,
Out of all the people that would look up information on this site, I would assume only a small percentage would join and be active.
The other consideration is that AS stops us sitting. I actively avoid my computer for days at a time, and then limit the time I do spend on it. So very severe ASers may avoid the internet completely.
That's my two cents worth!

No I wouldn't pay Alan. And I only had to sneak in a pay a guy to get past the vaunted ASkicikin' screener. It cost Alan a spleen, annaul surcharges and that didn't get him a backdoor like me. He came a sneakin' in like the way that guy got outta Shawshank.

I just read that about 1% of the US population has AS. And according to the Mick Mars website, between .25 – 1.5% of the world's population (about 24,000,000 people) have AS. I've also heard that between 1 in 100 and 1 in 300 Canadians have it (I average that out to 1 in 200), give or take .3% of our total population (1% have RA and +/- 13% of Canadians have some kind of arthritis). As to why more ASers aren't here, I can't say. I guess our contribution standards are too high here at KA??? Not everyone is into sharing online the way we do. There's probably a fair number of lurkers who never actually join. Your guess is as good as mine! Hugs,
Kat

Hi, If this statistics is correct, then AS must be a popular desease. Many people are not aware about AS. They do not know even about the problem AS person face. If 1 in 100 or 1 in 200 suffer from AS, then we must be able to see atleast a couple of AS sufferers when we walk in a city road. But this is not the case. Moreso, there would have been a hectic research to find out a solution. Hence, I strongly feel that the statistics is incorrect. Regards.

Hi Jay, I can see what your saying about the statistics being incorrect. But I feel a lot of the people who are diagnosed with AS dont have it they have one of the other very similar diseases and Doctors just say its AS because its easier for them. Look at how many people start off diagnosed with AS only for it to be changed at a later date. Just my opinion.
