If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

haven't taken this drug, but he's a link to it with side effects. http://www.drugs.com/sfx/oxycodone-side-effects.htmlsounds like these side effects are possible. if you are worried about the seriousness of the side effects, i'd call the doctor "on call" for your doctor and asked them. here is an excerpt from that link: Serious adverse reactions that may be associated with Oxycodone hydrochloride tablets therapy in clinical use are those observed with other opioid analgesics and include: respiratory depression, respiratory arrest, circulatory depression, cardiac arrest, hypotension, and/or shock. The less severe adverse events seen on initiation of therapy with Oxycodone hydrochloride tablets are also typical opioid side effects. These events are dose dependent, and their frequency depends on the clinical setting, the patient's level of opioid tolerance, and host factors specific to the individual. They should be expected and managed as a part of opioid analgesia. The most frequent of these include nausea, constipation, vomiting, headache, and pruritus. In many cases the frequency of adverse events during initiation of opioid therapy may be minimized by careful individualization of starting dosage, slow titration and the avoidance of large rapid swings in plasma concentration of the opioid. Many of these adverse events will abate as therapy is continued and some degree of tolerance is developed, but others may be expected to remain throughout therapy. so really its a matter of whether or not the side effects are serious, are they on the serious list? thus i'd call the doctor on call and discuss your side effects. feeling ill, like sick to ones stomach, "out of it", are unpleasant but probably not serious. on the other hand, a severe drop in blood pressure or difficulty breathing are something to take seriously.

Thanks for that. Sorry it just scares me. I dont mean to be dramatic. I am not used to this. I am extemely itchy but the other things come in waves Feel like I will pass out and eyes not being able to focus. When I feel like I will pass out I am a little short of breath. My legs feel heavy and numb. My mouth is dry and I couldnt form words properly like I am realy drunk.
Hubby says I will be fine. He read that link and even though I have a lot of the symptoms in the server part he said I will be fine and dont need to do anything.
Thanks anyway. I am just so scared.

I take Oxy 20's sometimes 2 or 3 at a time.
Im not sure but if you went from 20mgs to 80mgs this is probly the culprit. That is a pretty big jump.
Is there a way you can work up to the 80? Or if they are not ER (extended release) then cut in half to start out at 40mgs.
It sounds like the big jump in dose is too much for you.
I wouldn't take another one unless you work up to it or let your Dr. know and she what he/she says.

Hi Aussie Girl,
these are side effects of opioids but it does seem to me to be a very big jump up in dosage. In particular, the itching is very common and happens to me with even a slight increase. It's very important to increase the dose of opioids slowly and I'm surprised your doc jumped you up like that so rapidly.
If the symptoms continue you need to get checked out. Hubby should watch out for signs of depressed breathing, slow heart etc.
Let us know that you're ok, please?

Hi, I just got back from the hospital I am ok. Turns out my blood pressure jumed a fai bit for me. Normaly it sits arround 90/60 low I know andyway it was up to 145/92 so not that high but high for me. ZDoc said I had a reaction due to the oxy being increased too quickly and my body not used to it.
I feel make better now and will increase the oxy slower. Thsanks again.

Back to square 1. Turns out I have an allergy to the oxycodone. I have to now stop taking it immediately. And for the next 3 days I will have no pain relief at all. Ok so the oxycodone wasn't helping that much with the pain but it did take the edge off it.
Was realy scarey last night and then even though the dose was reduced I still reacted bad. I realy hate this I do and I hate coming here and complaining when I know all of you are going through your own [*bleep*]. I know you have all said its ok but I still feel realy guilty I can't help that. Anyway feeling realy down and out thanks for putting up with me.

Did you react to the lower dose, Aussie Girl? Or is there a chance that the higher dose set the allergic reaction off? Did they have suggestions about what to consider next?
