If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

your change in eating habits has effected your sleeping patterns? The only change I've noticed is that I get up earlier and more wide awake at 7.00 am (need to eat?). I still have to switch from my bed to the recliner most nights, that hasn't changed. do you take any liquids in the evening after your final meal for the day Most nights I have a glass of apple juice with fibre and I'll have a mug of green tea later but that's it.

Have you heard the saying 'Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.'? In tracking down the exact phrase I came across this article that backs it up. Adelle Davis is credited with this phrase. Another site describes her as being "an American pioneer in the field of nutrition during the mid-20th century. She was an outspoken advocate of the superior value of whole unprocessed foods, the dangers of food additives, and the dominant role that all nutrients play in maintaining health, preventing disease, and restoring health after the onset of disease." More info on her here...

I just thought the article was interesting because it was research that involved the combination of the gut, bacteria, and inflammation -
all things we discuss heavily here concerning the low starch diet.
I didnt mean to start a fat fight! I'm pretty sure HFCS causes more weight gain than bacteria does, but I didnt expect so many responses along the lines of 'just eat less, fatty'. I was just pointing out that someone else was researching the role of gut bacteria in seemingly unconnected illnesses.
Remember, plenty of folks laugh at us for saying that NSD makes our arthritis go away.

tinkerbell, you're so sweet! but for me, i know even an extra 10 lbs adds to my insulin resistance; its a very chicken and the egg type of problem, the insulin resistance makes it very hard to lose weight, but the extra weight adds to insulin resistance. however, walking, aerobic exercise allows the cells in the body to utilize glucose better, that helps. my biggest problem was when i couldn't do any form of exercise, couldn't even take a walk for an entire year due to a pulled tendon/ligament in the hip area (where they attach to the trochanter), exercise aggravated it and i had to lay off even walking to allow it to heal. that was a bad year for me, and saw my weight go up 5-10 lbs during that time, and my blood sugar, blood lipids, blood pressure all becoming borderline high. things are a little better now, now that i can walk again. the lbs still are hard to take off, but the numbers are looking a bit better.

timo,
interesting article. think it depends on what our issues are, for insulin resistance / prediabetes / diabetes exercise allows the body's cells to utilize glucose better, so for those of us with that problem, the exercise is important. but i'm with you, for a year, i couldn't even take a walk, and everything suffered. but yes, exercise alone is not enough, diet is important too.
wish i could use your dieting technique, but if i don't eat every few hours, and especially if i don't eat at bedtime, gastritis really flares, guess its all a balance of all of our issues.
