If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Outstanding Megan. Good for you and the new kitty. I'm so sorry you had to go through that with Maki. Years ago, when we had our first dog, we had to have her put to sleep. I took her to the vet and could not believe how difficult it was. Since then we've had one cat after another. My Lovely Wife loves cats. I'm not a big fan, but they do tend to grow on you, and now I can't imagine a house without a cat at this point. Our latest cat, Squeaky, came into our house as a rescue cat too. She had been beaten and kicked in her former home, where ever that was. We took her in, and she didn't meow at all. All she could do is squeak. I think her neck was somehow damaged. Now she is almost 15 years old. Our Vet says she is geriatric. And once again, it is amazing to me how much she worms her way into our hearts, or at least mine.

Our family has always had cats. We like to have several at a time so that they have each other to play with. At the moment we have 3 and they are usually all together in a furry heap when they are not in someone's lap. In the past we have had as many as 6 at a time. Even with 6 cats, the loss of losing one still breaks our harts. Each kitty has his/her own personality and bring different gifts to our family. I have found that a purring kitty is the best sleeping aid.
Much love to you and the new little kitten. Donna

My Bink used to fall asleep with me. I would lie on my side, and she would curl up next to me with her head on my forearm, purring away until we both fell asleep. Unfortunatley, right after my sweetie moved in, one of my feline babies decided that by sleeping next to me, he was infringing on her turf. She peed on his head one night. Now, the feline babies aren't allowed into the bedroom anymore. I come out of my room in the morning and Bink is at the door waiting, with Baba a few feet behind her. They squawck at me as soon as the door opens. Bink has figured out that if she pushes hard enough the door will open, but since it's on a spring hinge, it closes right behind her. My sweetie often awakens to a plaintive cry, as Bink reaches toward the door with her paw. Then he has to get out of bed to let her out! Ah, yes, Bink has her revenge. I miss falling asleep with my Isis right under the covers, purring against my ribcage. Such a comfort. Warm hugs,
Kat

Hey Meg, As a cat owner myself, I know what you are going through You can never replace these amazing individuals, but so good to offer a loving home to a new baby! I have 3 cats, all rescue cases, and they are my babies! In particular, Jess, who belonged to my sister, but didn't like it when she moved in with her boyfriend (and 3 kids, and 1 dog!), and Sam who was an abandoned stray, and only 5 weeks when we found him (he had cat flu, and wasn't even weaned when we found him; without us he would have probably died :(). Both Jess and Sam have turned into very loving cats, and I treasure every day I spend with them I hope you have many years of love and companionship with your new baby! Emma.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you! (Anon)

Welcome to your new kitty, Megan! And I'm so so sorry to hear about Maki, and everything else you've been going through...
I lasted two months after putting my first cat to sleep before coming home with a new one. My first cat was a birthday present, shortly before my brother died - it was VERY hard to say goodbye. Although the 2nd cat was completely different to the 1st (literally - my 1st cat was pure white, the 2nd pure black - I really didn't want to replace him!!) - it helped the healing process a lot - there just is something about a purring kitty which makes the world more bearable...
Now, we're very close to having to make the same decision about a 13 year old German Shephard who lives with my parents - it's sooo hard not being there to evaluate the situation and "know" what the right thing is to do...
I hope the new kitty brings you much comfort, purrs and joy!
-Anke

Was thinking today, that if you may be adopting a new kitty, she is going to need a name... So far have only come up with one idea, based on the fact that the Mommy's name is Megan, so maybe the little kitty baby could be called Micron... or maybe I should just get back to work, pretend I didn't say that!

if megan needs help picking out a kitty name, i am not the person to ask, my kitty's name, from when i was a little girl, was fluffy. at least we didn't have a dog named rover or spot, not that there's anything wrong with that. but i also had parakeets named green bird and blue bird and a cat named grey cat; in my defense i was only a temporary owner of each and had to give them names when i took them to a vet, guess not naming them, thought i'd not get as attached......wrong.
