jroc makes a very good point. Given those statistics, it seems pretty misguided to wait for eye problems before considering AS!

Rather, getting iritis is a big clue that finally tips off the docs that someone might be suffering from AS. I had undiagnosed AS for about 20 years before it progressed enough to result in iritis. If I'd been on a low-starch diet all along for some other reason, probably never would have gotten the iritis and by that standard I wouldn't have had AS!

So, back to website ideas...

For collecting recipes:

Start sending private messages to the members who post recipes in the diet forum and request permission to repost their recipes on your website (with suitable credit of course, and maybe links back to the original thread)

For displaying recipes:

Use a scheme to mark the ingredients to distinguish between the few that are always starch-free (e.g. eggs), others that are usually starch-free (e.g. blueberries, rarely there is a bad batch), and others that often or always contain a little starch but low enough many people can tolerate (e.g. chocolate).

Then, people who are still in the early stages of NSD diet to be extra cautious in selecting recipes or in skipping certain ingredients, while people who are starting to do better can loosen up a bit and splurge on the lovely chocolate chip recipes.

One possibility would be color coding the ingredient names for instance, though it is hard to get enough difference between colors to be easily distinguished yet not end up with an eye-hurting clash of colors wink
