don't know if this would bother you but it bugs me a little....

my PHYSIOTHERAPest will insist in refering to my AS throughout our conversations as ANK SPON. AAaaarggghhhhhhh!

can you imagine a doctor talking to his poor cancer patient?

im not very tactful and when i get tired of something i say so. in this case i personally would ask them to please not call it that anymore and just refer to it as AS.
im turned off by the name of the disease anyway but to see it shortened to sound like the offspring of 'Preditor' rubs me wrong as well.

Boy, I must really be out of the loop on this one. I know what Preditor is, but, Sunny, what do you mean by
Quote:
the offspring of 'Preditor'

Incidentally, Saltire, in spite of my ignorance, I agree wholeheartedly.

I had a PA do this at an office visit after an automobile accident. I don't recall why the doctor was absent from the office, but she, during a conversation at the nurses station, while making notes, referred to it as Ank Spon. I don't know why, but I nearly went through the roof when she used that terminology. It was akin to fingernails on a chalkboard or the sound of styrofoam packaging, packed tightly into a box to prevent goods from being damaged, being removed from that box thus generating that high pitch squeal/squeak. Had I not been hurting and looking for some help in assessing any potential damages and the had the PA not been a female, I probably would have verbally unloaded. What made it most annoying was that she spoke to me as if i were a two year old child. Maybe, in hindsight, I should have busted out the antics displayed by a two year old child.

Kind Regards,
Jay
