If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Nobody died and only 18 people taken to hospital but nothing real serious. I think overall we got pretty lucky. Thanks for all the replies. Dan

Dan!! I am so glad you posted! I was worried about you guys when I saw the news. I'm so glad it missed you but wow, that must have given you a serious scare. I heard that funnel clouds were spotted just south of our cottage and hoping we don't have trees down from the high winds. I expect it's all ok since we haven't heard from our neighbours. Yikes, why were you out on your boat?! Were there no warnings in place for your area, like we had down here? To watch shingles flying above you, must have given you a good jolt of adrenaline. So so glad you are okay and that no-one was seriously injured. We need another get-together soon! Hugs, mig

The tornado warning came out 10 minutes after it went through. They said that there was not any of the normal warning signs on this one. Just windy and rain. Our boat was still tied up at the dock and I was doing some work on the boat.

Being in dock is better, I was imagining you way out from shore, Dan! 10 minutes after... that is a shame. Too bad they couldn't have warned people earlier but I guess they are not the easiest things to predict. Hope the rest of the summer will be smoothing sailing!

I never met my wonderful 62year old fraternal grandma as she and her farm were blown flat about 70 miles south of kansas city mo.Now this was long ago in 1949 and I have many photos of the results being a few years before I was born but it really affected my dad and when he came back from fixing airplanes in new guinea and Australia for General Douglas MacArthur where he met my mom and they setelled here where we have earthquakes instead. i drove acros the SF -oakland bay bridge 23 ours before it fell into the San Francisco Bay Oct 17th 1989.thank you lord. But i'll take California's earthquakes over tornadoes thank you but it is probably because I have taken precautions and ridden out so many.
