Tom, so good to hear from you so soon after a tough surgery. I sure am glad things turned out okay considering what shape that old hip was in. Hope you are still comfortable at home..

Yikes! That sounds like taking the cover off a rear differential and seeing too much unwanted damage! But, it sounds like they took care of you well and you on the way to running marathons.

Hi: I have been home since Monday and I am comfortable. I have been sleeping soo much! It is difficult to follow most of the most important rules, getting around without putting any pressure on the right leg, not sitting for more than 30 minutes at a time, exercising, getting the right amount of painkiller and rest. I am eating healthy food and I am able to eat fruit salad, vegies and dip without too much muss and fuss. My support team, sister and sister in law, put together the food bags which don't need to be heated and only need a toothpick as a utensil. They also bring frozen dinners. I am tempted to walk outside because it is so sunny but I might overdo it. Another week of rest and I will be able to consider a walk around the block. All of you, keep well...Tom

You just keep taking care of you, Tom. I'm glad to know you're healing and resting. For now, just enjoy the outside from a window, OK?

Warm hugs,

Kat

It's good to hear that you are doing so well. Just don't do too much.

Good to hear that you are home and will be feeling better soon. Sounds like things got a bit complicated for you. I hhhope you will be permitted to get some weight on it soon. Take it slow, time goes by pretty quickly when you are recovering.

All my best to you TOm.

Hi Steve: I live about three blocks from the hospital and as I walked to the hospital early Wednesday morning, September 22, I was thinking of your words of encouragement. I was concerned about my fused neck and would they be able to put the tubes down my throat. They have done it twice before and your positive comments about the procedure eased my concerns. Thank you Steve. I am feeling better. Yesterday was the first day I did not sleep all day and all night...Tom
