Hi friends,

I got my MRI results the other day. Here is what happened.

- I have siratica in my lower spine. This is mild to moderate at it's current state. There is an unidentified 'blob' in my lower right side of my si joints. The radiologist is not too concerned about it. I will have a CT scan of it in late November/December. I have to get my ankle/foot broken again in late December. The mri showed significant damage that was not healed properly from the break in 2009. There is also moderate inflammation in my hips, shoulder blades and si joints.

- The blood work showed Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder. This goes hand in hand with the Fibromyligia.

So that is the dealio with me! It's all just labels for it hurts to do everything and exhausts me at all costs.

On the plus side of all this, I'm going back to school (work) tomorrow. First day of work in four months:)

Take care, Sammie

Hmmm, interesting that there was inflammation evident in three of the usual spots for AS. Hopefully, someone will cotton on to that.

I'm glad you're back to work, Sammee. I don't know what's worse, the pain, or not being able to get away from the pain by going to work every day. I think you know what I'm trying to say.

Warm hugs,

Kat

hi sam,

thanks for the update. glad you can go back to work, i know what it was like to be out of work myself last year.

may i ask how you broke your foot? my new rheumy wants me to go get xrays of my feet, apparently its too common for us to have foot issues.

may i ask how they see "mixed connective tissue disorder" in the blood? what blood test(s) show that? just curious.

regardless of what they call it, i suppose the important thing is getting treatments that lessen the pain. heart

You would think, wouldn't you Kath; baa to doctors. I now have an ear infection and two cysts in my sweat glands. On heavy antibiotics and shaking my head; when does it stop... oh that is right it doesn't stop; i just keep rolling with the punches and drinking the lemonade.

Oh... ps I got the best gouraous dress for my sisters wedding. It matches my 'walking stick' perfectly; even though my family thinks it's hidious that I use the walking stick at the wedding- I say, do you want me to walk and talk or what? Oh families. Take care darling!

Hi Sue,

I broke my foot in February 2009, down hill skiing. Skiied flat on my face, did a somersault and stuff, and well landed at the bottom where a lot of parimetics were waiting for my arrival. Lovely way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon, may I tell you!

Sammie:)
