Hi: Two weeks ago today I was in the operating room. Yesterday I stopped the pain pills and all seems well. This Friday I have a follow up appointment with the surgeon at the hospital. Since the hospital is only three blocks from my home maybe I will walk to the appointment. But it is all uphill! Maybe I will take a cab then walk back. Maybe today or tomorrow I may take a walk around the block on the crutches. I wish you all well...Tom

Awesome progress...off pain meds in two weeks. Wow. And to find out you avoided a needless 3 block trip...even better.

Time flies when you are recovering from surgery. Maybe you are feeling as good 3 weeks after surgery as you figured you would feel after 4 weeks. Hence trying to go to your checkup a week early? Does that make sense? Probably not.

Hi Tom

Long time no talk...I want to congratulate you for being so courageous having gone through such a difficult surgery.
If the temps still allow you to, have someone set up a chair outside for you. It will do you good, (knowing that you love the outdoors so much.)Feel the breeze and reminisce on a hike up the mountain trail.

All the best to you Tom from me in Winnipeg
Happy Thanksgiving

Ray smile

Hi Ray: Thank you for your kind words. Going to surgery was not so courageous as necessary. Since I did not have a deal of pain I asked the surgeon in one of earlier appointments if the surgery was necessary. He said it was necessary. I suppose I asked because I was a bit concerned. The first time I had total hip replacements I was in excruciating pain that I gave my self into their care. This time it seemed strange to be going to surgery sort of by my choice. I have been around the block on my crutches but it is a painful effort. It is an effort to focus to not put any weight on the right leg but the pain is in the wrists. My wrists are not used to bearing so much weight! Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and friends...Tom
