Hey taberge...how have you been? grin I may look into the half-bath downstairs idea but even with that I can't do it, there's just no way I can handle stairs like that...so, it is what it is...but actually, did you see the news story on this? They're being accused of trying to keep people from rebuilding on the beach so they can sell the property to beachfront developers for big, big bucks...so, I don't know, I guess it'll come out in the wash eventually, it always does...I hope all is well with you friend... hugss

Hi Tim, I don't know yet if we will rebuild down there, we're finished building here for now, we're pretty content where we are and until they get the elevation maps settled once and for all we probably won't...but see the Army Corp of Engineers design, build and maintain the levees & pump systems, they are under FEMA management...well FEMA issues the flood maps and in most people's opinion, that's a conflict of interest...on several levels. I hope all is good with you and your family...kiss Mateo for me!!! grin

I have not seen that story. But I have to ask, who in the hell would develop down there. I know it is the cajun riviera but not many would just flock to Hollybeach to catch a glimpse of the dirty water. We are not talking about white sands and crystal clear water like Panama City beach Florida.

I WOULD believe that industry may be the culprit if there is one. All that news about the LNG plant and the controversies surrounding it points to possible land grabs and future development on the shoreline. I would bet there are others looking to set up shop down there.

Hey taberge...I totally agree it's not the prettiest beach but...home is home...it's wasn't our home down there, it was a beach house but I feel bad for the people who do reside their year round, that's their home... frown I didn't see the story about LNG, please...do tell, our home is only 2 miles from there...wow, I'm so glad to chat with you, you're keeping me up to speed...thanks smile
