If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Diagnosis uncertainty increases anxiety in patients (November 30, 2010) -- Have you ever felt uneasy sitting in a doctor's waiting room or climbed the walls waiting for your test results? That feeling of anxious uncertainty can be more stressful than knowing you have a serious illness, according to a new study. ... > full story http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/11/101129101918.htm"Not knowing your diseae is a serious stressor!"------------------## What a hoot, we could have told em that very many moons ago <LOL> Not that this link deals with DX per se, as it deals with procedures and pre-procedure anxiety, but...does have a bearing. So, 'not only, but also!'

I'm sorry, I have to chuckle on this one, despite the fact that I haven't yet read the article. All I could think when I read, "Diagnosis uncertainty increases anxiety in patients," was, "Gee, do ya think?!"
Nice to know somebody finally noticed. OK, now I'll go read the article.
Warm hugs,
Kat

Now see...I'm the TOTAL opposite, I didn't want to know because I didn't want to be all stressed out...of course, that's not my advice for others, but that's how I felt...and my girls feel the same way...they both were dxed by age 15...that was 8 yrs. ago for Kristen and 10 years ago for Erica and NONE of their friends know they have been diagnosed with anything or that they're ill because they never told them...they are just like me, in that regard...Erica never even told her husband about it!!! Not to worry though...I gave him a crash course, so he knows how to take care of my girl and he's a great guy, I love him to bits...and he's a very attentive Husband & Father....

Kat - I spluttered with larfter, was shaking with larfter. Just hope that 'research' didn't cost too much as WE all could have told em ALL of that, and for nowt! Too daft what they dream up to 'research' into...!!
Oh Michelle - me? I want to know *everything: every last nut, bolt, thread of the problems/s - an, NO waiting around either <LOL> As for others knowing. I don't tend to talk about it unless someone asks me - which mostly they don't. TG or would be listening to a tomb of info. Too tedious (that is, IF they could even *begin to understand...HaHa.)

i just glanced through the article. i can believe this, as this is really true of most things in my life, its always the not knowing rather than the knowing that is a killer for me: waiting to find out if i got the job or not, waiting to find out if a paper was accepted or a grant approved, etc. once i know, regardless if the information is positive or negative, is always easier on me than the not knowing.
and i remember the half hour to hour or so i had to wait for a doctor to tell me that a cyst in my breast was not cancerous, rather just a fluid filled cyst was probably the longest hour of my life!
good find, though like the others said, yeh, seems pretty obvious.
