If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I tripped over a box fan at work last week. More embarrassing because *I* put the fan in a certain spot, then tripped over it 3 hrs later. I plead too many issues...remodeling at work (stuff is in a total mess), it was the day before hubby's kyphoplasty (which went well), said kyphoplasty was denied by insurance at last minute because he hadn't had PT (with a compression fx of L3--what PT would have touched him with THAT??) and I had all my own pain issues that night. Way too many things going on.
I put right hand out to catch myself and strained right shoulder. Filled out paperwork for employee injury and saw employee health the next day....(day of DH's surgery..dropped him off at preop, then went to employee health). I will go back this Friday for check up. It's getting better, slowly.
....And I've broken a toe, too. Sprained ankle. Broken 5th, 4th and 3rd metatarsals.
So, in a word....YES!!!!!!! We are klutzes.

Yep, Count me clumsy.
Somedays more than others, but barely being able to feel my feet makes walking an experience. And then the left leg is asleep too and sometimes has its own mind. Just another reason why I don't venture too far away from familiar surrounding. I can get around at home because I know where the next hand hold is. Sort of like horizontal rock climbing.
Keep Kickin'AS Chris

Yep, me too. My wrists are fusing/fused and it makes my grip strength infantile. I also have swollen knees, stiff hips and ankles and so I don't exactly pick my feet up when I walk. I can't believe you can actually fall down!!! If I fall down, I think it will be the end of me. I can't imagine trying to catch myself with fused wrists. Hopefully I have the foresight to tuck and roll. If you hear a blood curdling scream from the North Western USA, you'll know I've fallen and don't want to get back up! Thanks Bridge, for making me feel more "normal!" -Donette

Clumsy doesn't come close to describing me. I can walk into walls I'm looking straight at!! Once went face first into a door jamb I'd just been leaning on - in front of my boss. I've broken a wrist while running down the sidewalk - tripped on that little strip of tar they put in the crack between the concrete tiles. Broke my foot while swimming. Don't get me started on sports like baseball and soccer. My employers were thinking about foam padding the entire office at one point because I'm so good at walking into things. There's a partition between my co-worker and me. I have to walk around 500 billion times a day. I shoulder check it on a regular basis. That sucker's coming down one day, I swear!! You are not alone! Warm hugs,
Kat

Yes, clumsy, that's me! Most of you could be describing me too.
I've had the same problems with the canes and forearm crutches too. Now, I have a nice 4-wheel walker with a seat I use all the time. It sits there nicely- As long as you set the brake! Canes and crutches fall down, but wheeled walkers wait until you turn your back, then they take off! You turn around and they're gone! You have to chase them down like a 2 year old. LOL
I can't seem to pick up my feet either, even when I'm thinking about it. Maybe I'm concentrating too hard...?
I feel better knowing I am in good company.
Have a safe day!

I'm the klutz of the family. Before I had AS, and I was active (okay, spazzy), I ran into walls all of the time, tripped for no reason, broke toes on doorframes. Now that I'm, uh, mobility challenged, I just drop things all of the time. Guess you can't run face first into walls when you can't even walk up right.
Sounds like we're all a bunch of klutzes. Kickin' our own ASes.

Clumsy, I am sure I take the prize
1. Blacken my eyes once dodging my brother - we were playing football, and flatten my nose on the fence post. (just finishing high school at the time)
2. Jumped a foot over a high jump and sprained my ankle, when I landed on the other side. (in high school)
3. Sprain my ankles, once or twice a month. (ongoing)
4. Funiture just jumps in front of me and I break my toes (ongoing). Now when it happens, I just stand on the toes with other foot, until pain goes away. I find cracks in sidewalk and go flying. Walls should have cushions on them, so you don't have to explain the bruises from falling into them.
5. Two bones in front of your neck, for a time I just had to turn over in bed and have them go out of place. They have settled - for now.
6. Things fall out of my hands, for no good reason.
Now I have Makaylah to take the blame for me being clumsy. She just so quick - quite the puppy - always bouncing like a bunny and constantly bumping me. Boy will I be glad when she is big enough to hold me up.
Yesterday, I was getting the mail, stood up and fell into my son, who I was so glad was standing there. He just asked if I had my sea legs on.
So what you think do I win the prize.
Bridget you not alone.
Hugs Gerri

I have crashed my cranium so many times being unaware of just how forward leaning my head is that I am concussedly (???) challenged.
Oh, amen to that one Steve! A particular bane to my cranium's pain-free existence is the set of cupboards that hangs over the peninsula in my kitchen (I always call it an 'island' when talking to family or friends, but since it is connected to the wall at one end, it truly is a peninsula and not an island). I will see something on the countertop below the cupboard and lean forward for a better look, or to grab it, and every time, my progress comes to a painful halt when my head hits the bottom of those *&$% cupboards! No matter how many times I have done this, I have yet to learn the simple mantra of, "Be careful! Don't lean forward to far because you'll hit your head again!" Brad
