Amazing how little we know of each other here and all that folks go through each day atop the AS woes.
Sorry to hear the ugly stuff you went through in becoming as you say "redundant."
I did check Buno's passport to be sure he wasn't part of the ugliness. Every now and then he forgets he's fighting for the good guys, glad to see he was not overseas for quite some time.
Glad to see that a you found a clotty soul to offer you some wisdom and support through what could have only been a tremendously disturbing time. Even with that mystery clots aid, glad to see you had the spirit to come out the other side equally clotty.
I am ever so glad that this place flourishes with clottiness.
As for the piano biz too bad there isn't a cyber way to teach, my little ladies (at least one) seems eager to give the piano a try.
I agree with Timo, though I was going to call you Knight insted of King. You need to spend more time with us old Dinosaurs of 40 plus years of AS. Maybe you will say more than 2 or 3 words and I will be able to understand you. Seriously, So glad you have been able to start the Enbrel again. I would love to hear you play. I have played the piano since age 3 and can no longer play because my hands won't permit it. I try but get too frustrated that I can no long play the way I used to and make to many mistakes because me fingers won't move. Now that you've been "well paid" to retire, I expect to hear more from you Cindy

I had to check with some of in with some of my other British consultants on the use of the word "redundant" apparently it has a different meaning in your neck of the woods than it does over here!

In any event, I look forward to new adventures with ineptwill 2.0 just as much as any previous version!

So May I make a vote here for TNF Alpha's? All who agree say Aye,(like they do in Parliament)
AYE!!! I am just so happy that your pains are beginning to subside again Alan - YAY and thank goodness for anti TNFa's!
Now you - no more diddling on bloodwork next time, or else..!
Alan, you should be proud of how you handled everything with such integrity, for looking out for your staff and for speaking the truth regardless of the consequences to yourself... and for making it through such a repellent situation with grace and good humour intact. There are not many men like you! So glad it's behind you now and that your piano teaching biz is growing! That Enbrel has helped your hands enough to keep you playing gives me a smile, every time I think of it.
What! Someone helped you to be sensible and focussed? Cripes. They should be awarded copious points for that, methinks!!!

Thinking on this...
Do-able I bet!
Skype, or FaceTime technology that is improving every year, with a webcam camera on both the student, and Alan in his piano shed, a virtual private lesson, nudging his cyber-students as they show off their growing abilities at their keyboards in their own homes...when the connection gets fast enough (probably not for a while) they could even play duets!
or another thought, is to do like other teachers do, the teacher creates a series of instructional videos, uploaded free (privately) to YouTube. That each student could watch, and learn from. They then record their own performances at the piano, using a video camera (even the ones built into modern cel phones these days) and upload to YouTube (some can even do it directly from the phone now, even without a computer) for Alan to see. That way he could see and hear how they are progressing, make individual comments to the students, grade them.
I would have loved it if this kind of thing was available back when I was trying to learn piano, because it would have given me a chance to deal with performance anxiety issues when going to my piano teacher's house, playing on a different piano than the dodgy upright (or plastic-keyed synthesizer) I had at home!
To use an expression that will be familiar to our resident British piano teacher: "Bleedin' Nora! Is this the sort of standard one reaches if taught by Mr Alan?!?!?"
I'm really sorry to hear that you have had such a tough time of it last year. There are some real jerks in this world - totally without morals and yet they can still sleep soundly at night!
I hope things fall into place with building up your piano teaching - no doubt it would give you more pleasure to be giving to those who want your expertise than to those who just want to take advantage of you.
I hope your ex-boss comes to the same sticky end as as it sounds as if he was a Rotten Egg through & through!
