If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

apparently one does not have to test positive for celiac to be affected by gluten: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21224837

No news to me. I feel so much better overall when I'm strict about gluten that I'm relatively certain I have gluten intolerance. My GI specialist doesn't disagree. He doesn't agree, necessarily, but he did say that since I feel so much better without gluten, I should keep doing what I'm doing.
Warm Hugs,
Kat

though i tested celiac minus based on:
small intestine biopsy (when the GI doc did my upper endoscopy) negative HLA-DQ? genes negative IgA antibodies negative will be interesting what shows up on the food allergy tests.
but do think this study is a nice validation for those who have noticed a connection even though their results were all negative showing that symptoms should never be ignored just because they can't be (currently) validated with some kind of lab test. just simply means we're not looking for the right thing.

And really, if cutting a food out of your diet makes you feel better, where's the harm, yes?
Warm hugs,

Oh Sue, it couldn't be chocolate. Chocolate cures everything!!! I wonder if going for the really dark stuff, like 85% or 90% dark, would cause the problems at all? Warm hugs,
Kat

my sister was allergic to it when we were growing up. a research student of mine was also allergic to it. when i eat it, sometimes i think i notice mouth sores, hope i'm wrong! and yes kat, even the high percentage stuff, though only about 70%, don't like it more than that. if i eat way too much, it flares my GI issues, but that's when i lose all control. mostly its about an ounce a day.

Just a thought about coeliac testing - you can get false negatives on the standard coeliac blood tests if you are IGA deficient -there is some recommendation somewhere that if coeliac is suspected and the usual blood tests are neg, then need to check total IGA levels to make sure that isn't giving a false negative. I wonder if this might explain some of the gluten sensitive, but not diagnosed coeliac people. Unfortunately negative biopsies aren't a good way to say "definitely not coeliac" (though a positive one definitely confirms it) - just because coeliac damage can be incredibly patchy and start much lower down than standard endoscopies go.
