Michelle, I was writing my post when you were posting your diagnosis. I am so sorry that you are dealing with this. I can totally understand you wanting a place to let loose and this should be the place. Again, sometimes we, individually, are too into ourselves to notice. That pesky being human and not perfect thing, again.
I have had a troubled recovery from my cataract surgery 2 weeks ago and today is the first day I haven't felt like a zombie reading the forum in a while.
I would never spit on your grave and I don't wish ill of anyone (except maybe my ex).

Michelle, I am so sorry to learn about your illness. I know I would be totally shook up by such a Dx. all I can say is I am here for you anytime you need a cyber shoulder to cry on.

If I were you, I would start a new discussion, telling all about your trip to the hospital and everything following, I am afraid that many people have tuned out on this discussion when the arguments started flying. Most of the people at KA don't have any idea about what you are going through.

I can't bear to see my friends tearing each other apart. I won't be reading anything more on this discussion.

Thank yall so much...I'm in a really bad place right now, my pain levels are so off the charts right now, it's God awful and I'm a bit cranky from it...I thank yall, I apologize to Kat, I don't know why but when I first read it, the first paragraph didn't sink in(as you pointed out) it's like my mind suddenly 'woke up' at Pure AS specific elite and a few other things after that and I went off but after reading your entire post, I know see that what you were saying was great, because I'm tired of the cattiness and the division that we have here now but I don't have a clue how to fix this issue, I try to tune it out but...sometimes, so sorry and sorry for hi-jacking your thread....and thank you Micki, sorry for the mis-interperation and thank you for understanding, YOU ROCK!!! Holly and Magician...thanks for being there for me... hugss Donna, John, Tommy...thank yall!!! That's EXACTLY why I come here! I'm putting this behind me...

Pain, our common denominator, makes us all cranky at times and liable to say just about anything.

I'm pretty sure most of the people who "quit" will go off and have a proper sulk, take some pain meds and lurk their way back into good graces.

Or it could just be that Passover week gets me thinking in terms of undeserved mercy and grace... that NONE of us have earned.

I've quit too.

Shalom?

John

Dear Kat:

I have not seen the postings You are referring to; there is plenty that I miss here due to myriad excuses, but it is not the policy of KA to exclude ANYBODY except hucksters, spammers, and people who cannot maintain the dignity we expect and follow the Golden Rule.

Whoever gave the impression that KA was only about AS and nothing else is mistaken and has no official capacity to make such a policy decision. There are other forums perhaps they would be happier trolling. In fact, we are expanding our reach--into Rheumatoid Arthritis and soon Crohn's Disease and perhaps even others and there is a place for those affected by chronic disease or chronic pain secondarily; our loved ones who suffer because we suffer.

Nobody should be upset at what one member says or does--KA is not one monolith and does not have ONE POLICY MAKER; ALL members make the policies. We, whether we donate or not, are each equal member-owners and when we forget this we can have hurt feelings and some who feel like outsiders can even leave but it is not the intention of KA for anyone to feel like they are not part of the group: And with our growing membership it is easy to find others who agree with just about any idea a person can have, so we can have friendly debates and if I or someone else comes across as having authority, it is not because we actually have any authority at all, but just they way we communicate; emoticons do not even begin to convey the subtitles of speech we really need and if we had round-table discussions in person the nuances would be much different.

So, it bothers me somewhat that we would lose members to their own misunderstandings, but YOU EACH have the authority to tell anyone that You have as much right to be here and express Your opinion as everyone else, and I rely upon each member to take charge and keep each other in line! I can't do it and the administrators and moderators cannot always see things the same way as other members; it is in YOUR hands, mostly, but Thank You for bringing this to our attention and we will do what we can to remedy the situation.

HEALTH,
John

Hey, Michelle:

I did not know about Your hospitalization; suppose because of my own issues I have been absent too often, but I just wanted to add my wishes for speedy recovery. PF is one aspect that AS can make worse and important to get it under control. We are more prone to pneumonia, pleurisy, and aspergillosis than general pop.

Wishing You the best from SUNNY Philippines--HEALTH,
John
