Thank you. I just worked the day from heck where the 'manager' who always calls in sick called in sick again without properly scheduling us. I ended up working another shift AFTER I already worked a full day. So basically close to 15 hours worked. Sucks.

sorry to read that your work is causing so much pain and discomfort. Its hard to stay focused and keep your disposition at its best when those pains hit. Hope things turn for you for the better.

I'm about to start my traditional 10 days of holiday 10-15 hour work days. Very exciting. I'll get one day off in this time period, where I won't EVEN get the laundry done.

Last year I worked 100 hours in the pay period over Christmas. I know how you're feeling, Magic. Not looking forward to having no idea when I get to come home every day, until after New Year's, as they schedule NO graveyard shift to come get us out. We're just screwed until we're unscrewed, as usual. I don't even like Christmas anymore, but I am very glad to have a job, and very glad to still be able to stand and do it.

Iritis first diagnosed in 1991, presently recurrent and steroid resistant.
Tested HLA B27 positive in 1996.
AS diagnosed October of 2011.

Putting most of my eggs in the NSD and exercise basket, using only TENS, massage, heat and ice, and NSAIDS (sparingly) for pain. Drops for iritis as flare necessitates. Looking back I feel I would have been diagnosed with AS years ago, if I had found a rheumy earlier than 2011.

I understand. Your work schedule sounds absolutely hard. I am searching for other jobs. Hard to find work away from the service sector. I am happy when I do find one which works for me and the employer.

After the New Year I will be back to four 10 hour days. I used to have three 12s. I miss them. Really helps to get all the work out of the way, as I'm going to hurt if I do 2 hours or 20. Then the days off really let me exercise, treat my eyes if they're flaring, and take some proper rest.

I understand your search. Finding work at all is hard these days. frown
