If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Two things Recently Ihave had some issues but not as serious as you are describing. It seems because I am bent the way I am and my spine has the problems it has that my shortness of breath may be neurological in origin since echo- stress test and other things indicate it is not cardiac although I do have greatly limited chest expansion. Oddly in my case walking after eating also seems to be a large strain.
Second, maybe its not necessarily AS related. Diane has liver issues which exacerbate her asthma. However, she seems to be very allergic to certain things that can make breathing very difficult

Well, I just went online to My eHealth and checked my blood tests I had a few days ago and it seems that I have a low iron issue so oxygen is not being used optimally. Now to get some nails to eat and black-strap molasses to drink and things should turn around.

Hi Lon. Maybe I should eat a car or bicycle to ensure I get enough metal... Eat a car or bike? Nails seem too easy now

Well before I was diagnosed with USpA, I also experienced occasional bouts of shortness of breath. At the time, I went to my doc, who conducted numerous tests (including an EKG?) and concluded that my heart wasn't the problem.
My bouts of shortness of breath were not very common, but when they occurred they were downright intense.
In hindsight, I suspect that it may be an effect of costochondritis that accompanies some of the spondyloarthopathies?
However, if there is a link to cardiac issues that others suggest, better safe than sorry to have a cardiologist check you out as well.
I hope you get to the bottom of this, and feel better soon!

Hey that is interesting Timo, I would never have thought of low iron being as being a possible culprit. I really hope that supplementing to get your iron levels up will do the trick!!!

Something I had suggested for borderline low iron was to use cast iron cooking pots - just a little extra iron seeps out into your food, especially if its slightly acidic food. Would be fine, except that they are so much heavier and I have difficulty lifting and carrying ordinary cooking pots!

i cook in cast iron too, but also find i am having more trouble lifting my pots and pans.
Iritis first diagnosed in 1991, presently recurrent and steroid resistant. Tested HLA B27 positive in 1996. AS diagnosed October of 2011.
Putting most of my eggs in the NSD and exercise basket, using only TENS, massage, heat and ice, and NSAIDS (sparingly) for pain. Drops for iritis as flare necessitates. Looking back I feel I would have been diagnosed with AS years ago, if I had found a rheumy earlier than 2011.
