Had my first Enbrel injection today. Barely felt a thing and I didn't even ice my leg before hand. clap

I have a little ring mark from the sure click injector but no pain or swelling......yet (fingers crossed).
I have a very slight headache and feel very very tired. But other than that no other reactions thank god.

I am not expecting any instant relief and understand everyone is different but how soon should positive effects be felt? Will it take a few weeks of injections or will it be sooner than that. That is if it works for me at all.

Will keep you all posted of both positive or negative effects.

Thanks

Hey Trish

Congrats on 1st Enbrel injection. Had mine on the 17th. Did feel lightheaded after but otherwise ok. Hardly felt a thing.

Hope you get relief soon. My nurse said most people get relief in about 2 weeks on average. I also have a calender to keep track of injection sites. so I am rotating and not giving the injection in the same area.

Glad you finally are on the right track and hope things continue to go in the right direction for you. clap

I can not defeat you but I will not let you win

Congrats on your first injection. It took 6 weeks for me to get effective relief, to where the "butt bite" was no longer an issue (that would be, sciatica wink ). I prefer to ice first. I alternate between left and right thigh. My belly area did not like it when I tried it there. I use the pre-filled syringe rather than the sure-click. The pharmacy gave me this one time by mistake so I had the nurse train me, but the injection went so quick it hurt more than my previous method, and I preferred being able to control just how quickly the serum takes to go in.

I've been using Enbrel since Dec. 2006 and am so relived I found something that actually works. I wish everybody could experience the new life I got when I finally went on it...

All the best....

We can be Enbrel budies. I realy hope it works for both of us.
I was realy tired from the injection and went to sleep soon after I wrote the post. Only just got up a little while ago. Lucky I woke up just in time to pick up my boy from his grade 8 camp. I am still very tired and going to have another nap. Can only put this tiredness down to the injection but I am not worried.

Thanks. I am glad it is helping you.
My chemist had the pre filled syringes but I went for the sure click. I am glad I did because my hands have a bit of a shake to them at times and I'm not confident using a syringe.

6 weeks for effective relief..mmmm I hope it doesn't take that long but at least I won't get dissapointed if it takes a while.

I am on my 5th week, and what I have noticed most is the less fatigued I feel. That is huge, as you know, we are always tired! I'm so jealous that your injection didn't hurt! When I give myself the sureclick, it burns like fire when the medicine goes in. I've tried icing, and everything. So, keep up the good!

With the Enbrel, the Docs on post tell me that it depends on your metabolic rate for the length of time it takes to see any kind of results.

Yeah Trish,

Great new's! Finally huh? I hope this works for you. Sorry about the fatigue. I hate fatigue almost as much as pain! Praying that this will work great for you. Best of luck.
