If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I had a bad fall about 5 weeks ago when I was away at school. Fell really hard onto my knees. My right hip which has always been worse than the left started to act up and I was limping on and off for the remaining two weeks of my residency. My knees were swollen and black and blue so I didn't pay much attention to my hip. Thought I'd jarred it in the fall and aggravated the RA. Last week it started getting noticeably worse and by Saturday I could barely walk and sitting with the hip bent has been seriously painful. I finally made it to the doc today and he's given me a requisition for an X-ray tomorrow.
He's suspicious that, at the least, I've torn the cartilage that lines the hip socket. Or worse, something might be crushed or fractured. I couldn't understand why it would take 5 weeks to develop to this point but he suggests that methotrexate would have delayed the development of the inflammation and more or less hidden the injury which is now showing itself!
Have to wait and see.

Sorry to hear about the injury Wendy. You have a high pain tolerance too. Autoimmune disorders will do that for sure. That could be why didn't notice it as much at first. Please keep us posted.

Oh Wendy, that sounds awfully painful. I'm glad you are getting in for an x-ray tomorrow. I hope they are x-raying the knee as well. Might as well get at look at it too. Poor thing. I hope it isn't serious. Let us know what they find out. Blessings

That's a stinky one Wendy. Hope X-Ray doesn't find anything too dire - and yes, get knee X-Rayed ast same time. Now *take *care -

Have to wait and see. Wendy - first - poor you! A labral tear (the cartilage lip of the hip joint) won't show up on Xray, so don't take a clear Xray as "no injury" - you most likely need an MRI - that's the best way to see a labral tear. Anyway, there's a word for you to put into the Google search engine prior to getting the Xray and seeing the GP for review. Hope you're feeling better soon - as Craig said - you have a HIGH pain threshold, so the doc needs to take your pain *seriously*! Gotta fly - can't provide details / advice now,

Thanks everyone,
My doc is wonderful and takes my pain very seriously. We had a discussion about whether an X-ray would show up anything. He thinks even if there is a tear and nothing broken, there may be evidence which will make it easier for me to get an MRI or CAT scan. There's a wait for them so the X-ray is something we can do quickly that may provide evidence to get me quickly into a specialist. We'll see.
What it will take to heal it is the puzzle for me. I'm concerned it might need surgery and that wouldn't be so good right now!

Wendy, you continue to be in my thoughts. I sure hope you are feeling better by now.
after six days of anti-biotic drip, and pills, with no and then low starch I did not have joint pain, or back pain. Now it is all coming back again.... hmmph!
My best to you!

Oh Windy! That sounds so painful. I hope that the doctor can find some answers and a treatment plan to stop the pain. I am praying that you get well soon.
