Sue - when I pointed out 'to' the pharmacist that they should have caught it, they said 'not their job' Upto the doctor, not them. This is France, Pharmacists here are just shop counter servers. Utterly useless.

Molly: You poor thing developing a facial rash from the Magnesium frown. Is it better now? It is frustrating when we take something to help us and it creates another problem. My doc told me I am sensitive to medication.

Thanks for posting your experience. This should help all of us research our drugs before taking them.

Are your legs and feet swollen from the venous insufficiency? I used to be a Lymphedema Specialist and could give you some tips.

I use Cutemol (I order it through Walgreens and don't need a prescription) for my psoriasis.

Hope you are better.

Shari

No, not the magnesium but the sweeteners. Felt sick for several hours then nxt day a rash - all around mouth is still tingling and feels itchy 'under' the skin.

Vascular dysregulation - slight swelling, legs, ankles and feet, and toes. Tops of toes are blue. Also, not good for my no tension glaucoma. And, horrible cramp, toes, feet and legs (calves and thighs). So was delighted to have summat to help. Damned annoying that what was scripted was contra-indicated for hypertensives.

Medical scene over here is very hit and miss. And, no, Walgreens does not exist in France.

But any tips gratefully received... Thank you Shari

hi molly,

do you know for sure that the cortisone gets into your system if used topically?

the reason i ask: i can not take nsaids orally. gastritis. edema. yet the flector patch over my SI, no problems.

you don't have to answer that, just throwing the question and my experience with something similar but different out there. i know you research and note everything, lots of experience, etc. but thought i'd ask, just in case.

if you really can't do the topical stuff with cortisone, wonder if some of the creams could help. not sure if what i get is a mild case of psoriasis or just very dry skin. but i'll have patches get so dry, it hurts, and scabs over: over my eyes (between the brows and the eyes), elbows (always my driest, scabbiest part), over my hip bones, other.

for me, the best seems to be plain eucerin. the thick stuff. "original moisterizing creme". "dry skin therapy". "fragrance free".

i think my elbows are the worst because i get lazy about moisturizing them. and maybe why that spot above my eyes dries out.

anyway, no idea if something like eucerin would work for you.

Tim : Thanks, Tim. Sure am a bit fed up with all the nonsense that goes on over here - shakes head!!

Yes. Fraid so. Skin is the biggest organ of the whole body. Skin absorbs. Not doing anything that could even possibly have a detrimental effect on my eyes. Struggling with them enough...

MollyC1i....sorry have been off the past week dealing with contractual issues for my m-i-l who is blind.

I hope things are some what better for you now. It is a real pain to have to be so diligent, I for one feel your pain (literally), there are so few meds I can ingest now, always a reaction of one sort or another. Hang in there and feel better soon.

Movers come on Monday and we head back to Washington State Tuesday. 14 days on the road. will try to check in as I can.

A
