It is yucky, I had three attacks till now and every day I am afraid to wake up with a new one as usually I feel my attack when waking up, remember Mig I have a big feeling that stress helps the iritis to get stronger and attack back again, hope you get well soon please update

Oh my gosh, that little red eyed smiley is so cute!! Thank you, James! Dearest Mig I am so sorry to hear you have a flare up after so long without one. That is so frustrating! Please disregard this suggestion if it is unnecessary but I wanted to say: every two hour for a flare up seems questionable. I would have expected once per hour and if you wake up in the night treat hourly that you are awake. Do you think it is worth consulting with your regular eye doctor, who was in surgery? I had one doctor suggest four drops per day when I came in with a flare. I gently and respectfully questioned this. She checked into what an iritis specialist would have said and yes, once per hour just at first to hit that flare hard. My uveitis doc put it like this: putting out a fire, would you just sprinkle some water or pour lots of water at first?
Hope this helps, if not you, Mig, then perhaps someone reading who has not yet gotten connected with an eye doctor who knows lots about iritis.
Lots of hugs and best wishes,
Jan

Hi Mig: I am very sorry you got to use the "smilie". I wish you a speedy recovery and hope it is vanquished for another 8 years and more. I, too, have a regular ophthalmologist who will see me almost immediately without an appointment and will determine a course of action. Thank you for all you do for us here at KickAs...Tom

Oh Mig, I am so sorry. That is miserable. I had it constantly for several years in one eye and then the other until I went on Imuran and I haven't taken Imuran in a few years and it hasn't come back.

Several times I had to start the drops at every 10 min for the 1st day and go to every 15 min. the 2nd day, etc. That was all I did; lay on the couch and set the timer. It was really bad. I finally went to Mayo and they said if I didn't have such good eye care here that I would have already been blind. I am so glad you went right to the dr.

Thinking about you.
Hugs.

Wow, Janet - you went as long as me without iritis! That is terrific especially not on biologics. Amazing how fast you had the last battle cleared, by using oral steroids. That's incredible.

I've managed this whole time with AS to avoid steroids, since when my rheumy first tried me on it, something worrisome showed up in my blood work and we've never revisited the idea again.

I am wondering if this attack is going to flip eyes on me. Hope not!

Thanks!
mig

Yes thank goodness for steroids! I thought it was at least in a moderate coma... stupid iritis. Can't trust it!

Thanks Louise!! And laugh2 ... loved your second post!
